Depression is a hell of a drug

Hey. I've been away. Depression and life has kicked my ass. I've been homeless twice and got my own place twice. Drawn some art. Played some games. Cutting bullshit out.

I want to make a story based on Final Fantasy XV. Perhaps. I've not written anything in so long that this might stimulate my brain. I haven't even watched all of season 7, let alone the movie.

    What do you think?

    Potentially Back

I'm working on Dragon's Notebook and Penny for the Old Guy (Ezrienel is my co-author) alongside a Hail Mary rewrite (a non-pony version that we can pitch to publishers).

    That is all.

What a Glorious Life for an End to Something Special

My co-author has been known to be an exceptional writer, whom can only churn out her powerful, heart-rending stories when life seems down. Given that her life has been going up, her productivity has halted, henceforth so has mine as I witness my drive fade away the more I feel unjust, unworthy, and overall jealous, of her good fortune, and the fact that I am not the harbinger of good fortune.

Dragon's Notebook: Scaled Tower Outline Complete

The rewrite of one of my most popular stories is almost set to begin production. Just need to start chapter 1.

    New Short Description:
An accident prompts Spike to do the unthinkable and claim lives in order to protect the one he loves from danger... before his protective instincts involve his friends.

    New Long Description:

The Dragon's Notebook: Rewrite? · 4:59am May 25th, 2014

I dunno if any Dragon's Notebook fans still care or will read this and I'm not sure if people know, but Dragon's Notebook was written in 13 days, the last two chapters (12,000 words) written in under 12 hours. I was severely disappointed with it yet it still remains a favourite of mine. I wanna rewrite it, far longer than before, far more in depth and more expansive than the original, taking on something akin to Walter White's subtle transformation in Breaking Bad. Something... slow and well written in comparison to the first story. I will rewrite it, the question is; will anybody actually *read* the rewrite if its longer?

It may be just as long as Death Note itself (without the mind games) simply because there's much I wanna do. What do you think?

I liked the Dragons Notebook.(I just didn't like how you ended the sequel.)

Ironically I've wanted a Unicorn's Notebook rewrite.

I loved The Dragon's Notebook, I like stories where good characters slowly transform into bad ones. However, if you plan on having Spike have a slow and subtle transformation like Walter White did, I recommend changing the ending. I absolutely hated the ending to the first one, It was far too happy for the type of story you where telling.

It seemed to me that the only reason Spike went unpunished in the story was because the princesses knew him. After all the terrible things Spike did, he still gets to be with Rarity in the end? I haven't read the sequel so I don't know if things change, but still, him getting Rarity in the end makes no sense, even if he is a sympathetic character.

That's like if Breaking Bad ended with Walt telling Hank and everyone else the truth and them just forgiving him instantly.

2143366 I still felt the ending to DN was the logical one considering rules, but I will most likely not reuse that again since I did write it last minute. As I said... Death Note rules; burn the Death Note, owners memories are erased. Meaning the only way to punish Spike properly is to keep the Death Note intact for Spike's thousand years long life so he remembers why he was punished... Or kill him. I opted for the Spike lives ending... but I'll see.

The only way a scenario like that would work out was with Gus Fring; Walter White goes into witness protection and pulls the "I was forced to" shit he pulled on Hank instead and spills the details on Gus' empire, rather than outright forgive him. I had to work with the rules that were in place with the Death Note's canon. Also, the sequel is definitely not necessary and while happier than Dragon's Notebook, it's still sadder at the same time.

2143352 Oh? Whyzzat? I'd be open to one if there's interest to that; this DN rewrite would mostly be something like the Death Note films; same story, but different execution; fresh and original for the most part.

2143269 Seems to be the common consensus; Dragon's Notebook and Unicorn's Notebook both had scenarios where Spike got his life ruined; I felt Unicorn's Notebook's ending was better simply because Spike was content, he did his time and he remembered everything that happened.
