I like stuff. I dislike other stuff. I frequently dislike stuff other people like, and vice-versa. I'm not a troll; I'm a contrarian. I also write stuff, sometimes. It's not very good.

700 Follower Spectacular! (Disclaimer: Not actually spectacular.)

Having somehow duped 700 people into following me, I feel the need to celebrate my charlatanry with some grand gesture in honour of my readers.

Alas, I have nothing to offer.

At least, if you're not a fan of Winter's Child, I have nothing - except a cheap, "Thank you, everyone."

On that note: Thank you, everyone! :pinkiehappy:

So I made it to Equestria Daily....

    Holy fuck. :rainbowderp:

    That was unexpected.

Okay, that's not completely true. I did submit the story myself, but I didn't think it was a serious contender. For the record, it's actually my second attempt at EqD, the first being something I was far more confident in and overall happier with.

Current status, random thoughts, and more...

Hey, everyone. If you're reading this, it's probably because you decided to "Follow" me, in which case, I seriously question your taste and judgement. :unsuresweetie: Nevertheless, thank you!

Holy fuck. :rainbowderp:

That was unexpected.

Okay, that's not completely true. I did submit the story myself, but I didn't think it was a serious contender. For the record, it's actually my second attempt at EqD, the first being something I was far more confident in and overall happier with.

...And Borrowing Dulls The Edge Of Husbandry was written during a period of mild depression, was hit with a bad case of Ballooning Word Count Syndrome, and felt more than a little bit muddled when I was finished. The Shakespeare quote in the title was by far the cleverest thing about it. I submitted it without really expecting anything to happen, with a half-hearted thought of, "Heh, would be funny if this one made it."

And you know what? It is funny. :pinkiehappy: I've said it before: I never get the same perspective of my stories as my readers do. The votes confirm it, time and again.

While you guys keep defying my expectations of what will tickle your fancy, I'm nevertheless proud and very, very happy that I managed to put together something you enjoy.

I'm riding a pretty nice high right now. It's maybe, maybe enough to get me back to writing some other story that I might have neglected for a while. :raritywink:

I feel the need to thank my pre-readers once again: Journeyman and Exuno did a great job, though it took their combined efforts to convince me of a couple of changes as they hit my typical stubbornness.

Thanks also to the EqD pre-readers who approved my story. I believe they are "The Fluffiest Pre-Reader" (who emailed me) and "The Carousel Pony Pre-Reader" (whose name appears on the EqD post).

And, as always, thanks to all of you for taking the time to read!

I will try to respond to all the comments, but I'm still having computer issues at home (and I dare not pony at work) so expect delays.

Love ya, everypony!

Well, there's just something appealing about a clean, deftly-written mostly-show-accurate slice-of-life. There's a lot of Pony X Is Secretly A Robot Vampire From The Human World And Also Something About Airships out there in the Ponynet, and it's nice to be drawn back to the center from time to time. I know I liked it (and will be registering same on the clicky boxes in just a moment).

CONGRATULATIONS

Seriously, you rocked Pinkie in that. Never feel you can't write Pinkie, because damn! You really can.

Shit.

Now I HAVE to read this now...

~Skeeter The Lurker

It is funny!

Good on you, man! Glad to hear you could make something nice out of a time of trouble. Keep on trucking!

Wait, something you HAVEN'T read? :rainbowderp:

Meh I never go to that site..Ever.

Congratulations, I just read the story last night and it was great, the disconnect was obvious, and I actually had the same thought for the eventual solution about a third of the way in, but the journey is always what is most important, and I must say that was a great trip to get there.

BTW, that "other story" better be that continuation of Related Complications that you promised me. You've only got like 64 years to complete it.:rainbowlaugh:

Congratulations! :pinkiehappy:

Oh, huh. I saw that appear in the featured box. Didn't realize it was yours.
