    Watch (This) Space

    Hello everyone!

I've been gone on hiatus for a few years. I stopped watching My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic in the middle of the seventh season. But a few months ago, my interest was rekindled. And the last two seasons were fantastic. The high point, for me, is the new characters -- the Student Six -- who breathed fresh life into the show.

Thank You, Plus Pony Music · 9:54pm May 13th, 2014

by RaptorNX01 and the radioplay team The Equestrian Broadcasting Company

It's been a while since I've dedicated a blog post to saying "thank you" to all my fans and followers, and the amazing Fallout: Equestria community as a whole.

I don't know how to say it better than I've said it before: thank you for enjoying my story and choosing to follow me. :yay: Thank you for all the wonderful comments and favorites. Thank you again for sharing your kindness and your friendship, both with myself and others. To those who have been inspired by Fallout: Equestria and who selflessly share your talents with us: thank you for giving us the gifts of your art, your stories, your animation, your readings, your music, and so much more! You are an amazing blessing, both to myself and to each other. And the whole world is better for having you in it.

(BTW: I have it on good authority that the second episode of the radioplay is going to be out soon. Keep your eyes open for it!)

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has just wrapped up its fourth season (and what a finale it was!), and once again we face the great hiatus known as summer. (You may be interested to know Equestria Daily is doing a timely historical overview of our fandom, and the second part makes a nice mention of our subfandom. :raritystarry: ) I hope to still see you throughout the summer, and the community still going as strong as ever by the time the next season start. I know I'll be here.

Likewise, I know this is a life-changing time for a lot of you. Many of you are graduating high school or graduating college. Congratulations! I wish you the absolute best in the big adventure that awaits you as the next part of your life.

As a little something special, I'll end this blog post with a "Song of Gloom".

Gloom was a very minor character in Fallout: Equestria. I joined the first Fallout: Equestria roleplaying game on IRC shortly after finishing the story. The game was set a little time before the events in the book, so I decided to play a filly version of Gloom as my first character. The little zebra had Pinkie Pie's "random" trait, and was known to spontaneously break into song. I'd grab a song and rewrite it, filk-style, for Little Gloom to sing. Here's one of them, which I'd like to believe is a fitting tribute to the show, and a nice note to end the season on:

"Ponyville"
by Little Gloom
to the tune of "Flicker" by Jonathan Coulton

There’s a small town near the forest,
Where the ponies love to smile.
Where they’re wrapping up the last of winter’s snow.
Celestia paints the sky at night,
Her pupil reads by candle light,
A wagon waits to greet new friends hello.

In the warming light of dawn, a turtle flies,
And the Cakes are happy baking apple pies,
Lotus and Aloe, massages finest in the land,
Filly crusaders, dressed in costume for a band,

Flour and turnips, this party’s better than it seems,
In a park tree, dear sleeping cyan pony: pleasant dreams.

A line to get some cider, a place to buy a quill.
A sky of clearest blue (ten seconds flat).
A shop shaped like a carousel,
A top hat fashioned by a spell,
Two horseshoes entwined on a welcome mat.

The ponies stop to sing a joyful song,
And Lyra’s sitting on that park bench wrong,
The Friendship Express. A sign zap-apples soon will come.
Read the Foal-Free Press (much better without Gabby Gums).

Three cheers for AJ, but Twilight just can’t get her say.
Yes, they’re all crazy. As it turns out the phoenix is a-okay.

PS: If you'd like me to share more "Songs of Gloom", let me know.

No problem at all. I may have not found the same enjoyment of it as others, but I still respect you as a writer and person. And have a happy summer as well!

Your story is easily the best thing that I have ever read, fan-fiction or otherwise. You, somehow, balance comedy with heartbreaking drama flawlessly. While I thought Somber did better at exploring how mentally debilitating the wasteland can be. Having to live with what you have to do is probably the greatest struggle for any hero in the wasteland. The Arbu(i'm pretty sure that's what it was called) massacre was an excellent example of this. I am also amazed at how flawlessly you juxtaposed two worlds that are the antithesis of each other. All in all your work is magnificent. It deserves all the praise it gets, and you deserve all the praise that you get.

I'm racking my brain trying to remember who "Gloom" is, and despite reading the story twice I can't put my finger on it. I absolutely recognize the name, and I'm pretty sure the character appears between the Fillydelphia chapters and Shadow of the Ministries, and I'm so close to remembering but it slips from my mind every time I'm about to remember! UGH!

Don't thank us, Kkat.

You're the miracle worker here.

GGRRrr
[I have literally finished your story a few days ago and I have to say it was awesome!]
GGRRrr
[Now I get to hear what Velvet Remedy and DJ PON3 sounds like? BONUS!!!]

Fight scenes in Fallout Equestria seem to play more like fight scenes in Fallout tan MLP. With how the big fight between Twilight and Tirek went, and Celestia and Luna being almost that powerful themselves, how different would Fallout Equestria be if the fights in the war and during the events of the story were more like that?

hi hi

Some day, Friendship is Magic will come to an end, but it won't be the end of this friendship. 'Cause the spark resides in the heart of us all.

2109298 They say everyone dies twice, once when they leave this world, the second time when their name is said for the last time. Let's make this show (and fandom) immortal.

2109119
Gloom is one of the zebras in Glyphmark, the miserable zebra village not far from Zebratown and Canterlot, where Xenith's daughter lived.

2109143

The Fallout: Equestria community is Spiderman?

No, thank you! Thank you for getting me into Fallout (the game), into good post apocolyptic movies, and for demonstrating to us all...what a great fic is!

Thank you for making this story and making this fandom in the first place. Thanks to you I'm planing to make my own Fallout Equestria story too.

2109119 She was one of the Zebra's from Glyphmark. I think at least.

Miss Kkat, I want to thank you, for the glorious tale that you have give us. The tale is an incredible thing, that has sparked so many, fantastic side stories, and given inspiration to so much more, as well as to me in it's own manners.

I thank you, and I hope that you will stick on with us more, and see how this little project you created, will grow so much more as time goes on.

Oh yeah? Well thank you x10! No but seriously, if it wasn't for your story I never would have even watched the show :twilightsheepish:

Has anyone ever told you your an amazing songwriter? I like to write poetry and I think I fairly good at it, but I've never been good at putting it with music :applejackunsure:

... I need moar Gloom songs please. That was fun.

We love you to Kkat, you gave us all what is likely the most dramatic, entrancing, disturbing, introspective, depressing, uplifting, and overall lifelike MLP fanfiction ever written.
And as for me personally, simply by reading FOE and other fics of similar caliber I have improved greatly in my ability to write, including writing assignments in school. FOE in particular has inspired me to write what will be my first fan fiction, the first fiction story I have seriously decided to write, and the first that I will have ever shared with anybody.
Basically what I'm trying to say is that we are, if not even, indebted to YOU.

Ooh, more Songs of Gloom, please!
It's been such a long time since I've heard "Flickr." Didn't stop me from pulling it from the depths of my music library and singing your lyrics along to the tune! Makes me want to do a parody recording. Not that I should be doing any recordings, but still.
Also... New radio show you say? Yes please!

I think you deserve the thanks here. You're an inspiration, and a great example to follow. I know that since reading FOE, I've taken to enhancing my writing. Not to mention that I absolutely loved the story so much, I read nonstop for over 2 days until I finished it. And when you announced that there would be another printing, I jumped on the chance.

And speaking of, I was amazed to find out that over 1100 people ordered over 1200 copies of the book printing. I knew there would be a lot of people that would order it, but I didn't think there would be over 1000. This community amazes me so much, and the fandom is something I'm proud to be a part of.

I have only a few words... THIS was one of the many MLP FIM fic's ive read in my life, but this one was the first to get me to start writing, and to appreciate the works and talents of so many others. This story was the story that inspired me to be who I am right now, and gave me an open door to the Brony community. I just want to let you know that Fallout: Equestria has been the turning point in my life (No matter how cheesy it sounds) from the non-social emotional wreck I was, to being a super social friendly person I am today. And to add, the story was written so very well, to the point I cant even explain without going into a few page rant. I Love you and this story, and the last thing I have to say is, Thank you. The things you do have and will forever inspire me and everyone else who's eyes touch them.

-BlazingHeart715 (P.S. I happened to watch the video while I was listening to the song on youtube.:pinkiehappy:)

2110181 I didn't know you were an emotional wreck before, that really sucks man. Just know that if you hit hard times you can lean on me as much as you need to.

I find it almost ironic how this fic is also one the things that really brought us together, it's had a massive effect on me as well.

2110231 the things you can learn from someone (Especially me) when given something emotional to respond to XD, and yes, I used to be a MESS.

I will basically say the same thing as my friend BlazingHeart, this fic was one of the very first things that introduced me the fandom and led me into it as well which has been a life changing and even saving process.

Honestly I've been on the brink of suicide for several months and this fandom as a whole has really helped me see that life is worth living when you have a bunch of amazing friends who appreciate who you are. Hell, this fic has been my life for the past month and I hope that I can even add my own spinoff to the universe to show my appreciation in full.

Once again thank you for everything.

-Dylan.

2110252 Ha! That's two of us then, I'm still a mess but this fic has really helped me get along in life.

Well thank you for what is probably one of the best epic adventure fics I've read. And the setting that got me into RPing and helped me meet a bunch of new friends. It's been a heck of a ride, and I hope to see more good fics coming from this sub-fandom (especially since MN7 is in the home stretch).

You are easily my #1 fanfic author, and your story WAAAAAY high on my fav list. Thank you for inspiring us all!

My best friend and I finally got on the list for the next printing of Fallout: Equestria. The excitement is suddenly all too real again.

compeltely reddited because griping about other stories is rude in someone else's stuff.

hope some intersting stuff pops up this summer.

sighs, i am facign a slight drought this year. i normally rely on fanfiction to keep my pony high going. actually finding myself scared to pick up new fics in case they fall apart.
hopefully i can fill up that time by writing my own fic, and hopefully i do nto screw up. fingers crossed.

THE EXCITEMENT IS REAL!
Cue the random singing, and accept this counter-offer of thanking you as I echo my war cries into the abyss that is the night! *Wails like a legion of twelve-thousand baboons*

img4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120418052354/mlp/images/6/64/FANMADE_YEAH%21%21%21.gif

Well, thank you right back. You're wonderful

(by the way, the Jonathan Coulton song is "Flickr", without 'e' :raritywink:)

And hell yea I want more of Little Gloom's songs :pinkiehappy:

That song should not be so sad. It wants to be such a happy song. But it's a happy song about a world that was lost in hellfire so very long ago. The ponies don't smile in Ponyville anymore, except when they're torturing their victims.

It's such a bittersweet song.

Before I found this fandom I didn't really know what I was good at. I was neither good at sports, nor interested in anything significant that I truly enjoyed. When I found out about this fandom, and your story I was compelled to contribute to the consistent flow of magnificent art being created.

But, I couldn't draw. I couldn't sing well. (Nor edit that well either.) I was okay at typing. So I figured I might as well write. When I found Fallout: Equestria it was the first time I had wanted to write since I had finished all of the Redwall books. And now here I am. I've become proficient in writing. Though I still have much more room for improvement, it all started when I read your story.

Thanks for that Kkat. Thank you so much. =)

It's been a while since I've dedicated a blog post to saying "thank you" to all my fans and followers, and the amazing Fallout: Equestria community as a whole.

Maybe not one that was 100% dedicated to it, but you've been mentioning it a lot.

2111281 Redwall huh..? Last one I read was Marlfox, it's a shame Brian Jacques is no longer with us, may he rest in peace...

Anyways, I like seeing the author go out of his/her way to thank... Us? Wait a minute, all we did was enjoy a good story, I think this is the other way around.

We should be thanking you for creating this story, some of us enjoyed it, others not so much, but regardless you put your work out there, uncertain of how it will be taken.
It takes a lot to put a story out there, I'm not an author, I mainly edit but I could compare it to putting a piece of yourself out in the open.

KKat, this blog is about thanking us, but really when you make something that even a cynical arse of a critic myself can enjoy then I can safely say you deserve all the attention this has gotten you.

Keep up (or don't, we all have other hobbies and jobs.) the good work, given more time (because publishers) I have a feeling you'll make an absolutely astounding author outside of our fandom.

And I'd to thank you, Kkat, for being an amazing writer and person. :pinkiehappy:

I am graduating in two days and I am very nervous to finally be done with my education here. I loved my time at my college and wouldn't trade it away for anything.

Thank you for writing such an amazing journey of a story. :)

I am just glad that this awesome piece of literature is available to be read as often as anyone/anypony wants to. As several others have mentioned, Thank-You for writing out this excellent piece of work.
