Dearly beloved,
We are gathered here today to mourn the loss of a great friend. A truly great member of our community was lost today. A source of strength and wisdom for all of us. There for us day after day, willing to listen to our woes and to guide us when we were lost.
The library tree was not just a tree. It was a symbol of friendship, of growing and learning. The shattering of the tree is like our hearts literally being splintered into tiny fragments of ash and ruin. Literally.
But as a great man (Mr Doctor Who) once said, "If it can be remembered, it can come back".
There is no reason that the library tree cannot be repaired and sit alongside Twilight's magic tree-castle! Perhaps she could live in it and use the castle for admin work? What will the ponies of Ponyville do without a library? The fillies will grow illiterate, Spike will have nowhere to sleep but a cold stone floor.
We implore you to contact your local government representative to put changes into action to bring back this vital part of Ponyville before it is lost for future generations to enjoy.
We saved Derpy! The fandom rallied then, and she wasn’t even blown up into fiery ashes! We can save library tree too!

I just am writing it that the crystals are really semi-solid mesh when it involves furniture and can have built in heating and cooling for his/her/hir pleasure. So she's fine.

This was Twilight's first home when she arrived in Ponyville. This Library tree has stuck with us 4 long seasons. We cannot, no, MUST not let this tree become nothing but a memory. No, that will not do. We must save it, because if we do not, then who? Who will save the town's library? Twilight's home? In this tree, they relocated the elements of harmony when Discord hid them. This is where Twilight had her first sleepover. This is where she got her pet, Owlicious. In this very tree, they created a plan to stop Nightmare Moon. This library holds many, many memories, good and bad. This library is more than a tree. Oh, it is MUCH more. This library is an icon. An icon of learning, teaching, and magic. Oh, how magical this tree is. Nigh, I mean not like a unicorns energy force, but something even more powerful. I speak of the magic of friendship. This tree was the meeting place of 6 very close friends. And if you sign this petition, it can still be that. Magical, a place of learning. A place of friendship.

We all have to learn to move on. You're right in saying that the tree was symbolic, but even it's destruction was supposed to symbolize something.
The destruction of the tree was meant to put into your minds that Twilight was never going to be the same after this incident. It was meant to deliver a message, saying "everything has changed." It's a turning point in Twilight's life, saying she's growing up, and facing a new stage in her life. To give back the tree is to live in the past, and nostalgia will only weaken the impact the show has on us.
Learn to accept change, because it's a part of everyone's life.
