    Actually nice content

Have a look at this lovliness.

Remember a while back when I made some Hearths' Warming content, the pony version of Santa and the Krampus. It was a nice thing, a happy thing. The opposite of caribou and zebras. And I finally got something drawn on that subject. The Hearthkeeper, Kampfite, and their Pooka wives Klåsa and Kråmpa.

Why I stopped (and might not restart)

It's a short answer. They broke me. Given some replies in the past, I can actually say to some readers, you broke me.

    I finally found it

Way back when, at the start of the Fall there was one specific image I was mining for context before I had more primary sources. It colored the entire perception of the caribou and gave rise to the ultra-harsh depictions as literal Nazis, and also why I hammer their racism so hard. If you happen to notice, all the women are ponies, and some men as well. Other species don't exist EXCEPT acceptable

    Placed in the monster pen

A popular setting for horror anything is the haunted asylum. See, it was filled with crazy people. Crazy people are all sociopathic professional serial killers, and when they die they all turn into ghosts with have an insatiable drive to kill stupid teenagers. Nevermind that the inmates of asyla generally had even fewer rights and protections than even regular prisoners for a ridiculously long

Help needed from Fallout: New Vegas fans

It's no secret I'm a strong Black Isle fanboy. I believe in the purity of Fallout one and two. It had the retrofuturistic feel and look of the old atompunk pulps, the senseless exuberance and clean lines of streamline moderne and Googie mixed with B-Movie sci-fi and all the little idiot lies that made it fun. There was a frivolousness to it. A joyous abandon when designs aped Mad Max, when people

DVD Commentary Review- Over the Hedge · 4:38am May 10th, 2014

Disclosure: I saw this movie eight times in theaters, and at least 30 times on DVD. It's a go-to movie. There's a lot in there that I like, that just suits me. But, everyone can guess, the animated and animal-centric parts help out a lot.

So this commentary is with directors Tim Johnson and Karey Kirkpatrick and producer Bonnie Arnold. Remember my last review that talked about the guys not being "Hollywood" types? Well, these folks are, in a way. They work for Dreamworks which means big-shot Hollywood money and such. But they don't comport themselves like Hollywood types. They seem more relaxed and open, like the indie filmmakers. I think being involved in an animation studio, as opposed to a regular studio keeps them grounded. Also, the voices are more distict that then others. The two guys sound different and so picking them out is a snap.

Like the best commentaries, they follow the movie and make timely references to the happenings on screen while going off on various subjects, and rather generously giving their crew members numerous shout-outs while pointing out excellent examples of their work.

They keep focus on the movie, which is not a bad thing, and there are almost no lulls in the commentary. It's better movie-talking than MST3K. They don't stay into completely irrelevent points, but tangent into interesting things. Mostly cutting-room-floor gags, and all the "what might have been" elements that make me happy.

All the stuff you find out is well worth the time listening to the commentary. Like how Kat O'Hara and Eugene Levy picked the same kind of voice without being in the same room, or how Steve Carrell had to yell "Wanna help me find my nuts?!" on the set of The Office because they wanted him to rerecord the line. It's all very intriguing, engrossing. You learn a lot about the movie, behind and on the screen.

On the movie itself- I think one thing that really draws me is that the only real, overt romance is not just interspecies, but has a male cat, a rarity. Nine times out of ten a movie cat will be female. So it's a nice change.

Commentary Score: 10/10

Are finished jacking off to the movie yet?

So... mocking him for liking the movie enough to continually re-watch it, huh? Yea, you're a nice sort. Go away.

Aw, ain't y'all cute... especially considering you used the word 'newfag'... and I've been actively using the internet and been part of the furry fandom for the last 22 years. I think I out-gun you, bucky. But you keep acting like some little wanna-be badass. See where it gets you in life.

So... have you gotten your Masters yet or did you only do a Bachalor Degree in Furry 101? Just interested.

2094940

Ooh, there's more than one of you! Lovely. More targets to practice my long-range archery on.

For the record? it's 'Master's', and 'Bachelor's'. If you're going to insult me, at least do it correctly.

2094991
i wasn't insulting you, mearly trying to point out to you that you assume that the first commenter is less experianced online than you. Hence my jab at your (supposed) 22 years of internet service.

Still waiting for the badge to arrive in the mail?

This here:

But you keep acting like some little wanna-be badass. See where it gets you in life.

Just screams 'I get worked up over the smallest thing on the internet, have at me!'

So please, continue on and huff and puff about your 'achievements' regarding the online world. Everyone is incredibly interested to hear what other wisdom you can throw out in your tantrum.

Oh, and to the OP:

Hoodwinked was more enjoyable IMO, but Over the Hedge did have some moments that brought it to a close second.

Eh, sorry. I was a little aggravated and took it out on you, expecting you to be cut from the same cloth as Flabbergasted. I've had a rough week and it got to me a bit. My apologies.

As fer you, me laddiebuck, I'm surprised if Gabe doesn't block you, report then block you, or just plain delete your comments. Ta. Some of us have better things to do than entertain you. Like sleep.

The movie came out in 2006. Ignoring this partial year, that's seven years. Around four times a year or thereabouts.

I understand, hyperbole for comedic effect, but sometimes simple math creates a backlash against simple hyperbole.

2094661

Fu:yay: yeah he is! One of the best vocal choices in that movie.

2095003

It's a pretty close race. A lot of elements combine to make it hard to choose. There's something to be said for the slick and polished look of OtH, yet there's also some charm in the "stop motion" look and "flakey whims" of Hoodwinked. Glad we seem to be on the same page.

And don't think ill of Noble. She's a dear friend and hates when folks are mindlessly cruel. I'm no fan of cruelty myself.

2094633

And for the record, no blocking or reporting or anything. Just t deletion of comments against Noble, who is a friend and was mostly speaking from anger. I prefer peaceful solutions.

Don't lie. You never stopped.

Heh. The character designs are good, I won't lie.
