FLEE, DERPY! FLEEEEEEE!
Well, goodness. That was quite a gap in productivity. Thank you all for your endless patience.
I'll keep things brief, since you probably only want to read walls of text if it's a story update: both of my big projects are still alive. And no, not 'Comma-got-to-it' alive, but 'still-being-written-and-updated' alive. I intend to update less sporadically, with everything on my end pretty much stable for the foreseeable future.
In the meantime, though, I have a new story for you: back when Chengar published Winning Pony: Road Not Taken, he and I noticed that there were at least a couple of comments asking about how Sparkler had become part of Cloud Kicker's family. Chen then turned to me and asked, "Hey, Comma--didn't you have delusions of adequacy about that whole 'Being a writer' schpiel?"
Naturally, I reminded him that of course I did, but things had happened--and circumstances, and duties, and other such usefully vague nouns. He then very sagely replied by asking whether I wanted some cheese to go with that whine, and goaded galvanized me into putting fingers to keyboard once more.
As it stands today, the next chapter of Changes is outlined and ready for fleshing out, but it'll have to wait a little bit longer. Why? You ask? Because I enjoy tormenting you with vague promises.
Also, the Chengar-approved prequel to Winning Pony: Road Not Taken is almost ready to be published. It's currently being picked over by proofreaders, but once that's done, you'll have access to Sparkler's backstory in Road Not Taken: Going Home.
I don't think we've ever really gotten the full scoop on Sparkler's adoption by Derpy in the Winningverse, never mind a RNT version adopted by the Kickers.
I mean, yeah, there have been some mentions of it in Winning Pony and Torn Mind, (possibly even Study) but I figured that there was going to be an actual adoption chapter as an epilogue in What's in a Name... because Dinky was born first and then Sparkler was adopted, right?
Happy to hear of your return. : ) I have yet to read 'changes' but am looking forward to it considering how well done the stories in the Winningverse are always written. Biggest one I've read of yours is "What's in a name" and loved that up until your disappearance.
I will admit to wanting to really see the beginning months of Derpy taking in Sparkler, why she took her in opposed to any other unicorn from the adoption agency, all those little issues. Admittedly considering where the story is atm with Derpy just getting a house and being pregnant with Dinky, I assume it will be a long time till it gets to that point. If the story continues on to that point as well for that matter. Ah well.

Glad Comma is back!
I'm torn about more changes, its a fantastic story but I don't think my heart (and tear ducts) can take much more.
When I'm almost finished translating Changes you're publishing new chapter... YES! Thank you!
