Sometimes I Write Dumb Crap · 3:33pm Apr 24th, 2014
So Super Trampoline has this story that I like. I'd tell you the name of the story, but it's far too long and I'm not going to go look it up. Anyway, the idea is that it is a ridiculous slashfic collection where each story is exactly one hundred words. That sounded pretty fun, so I wrote two up quite a while back.
Then they never got used and I just shrugged it off. Turns out, Trampoline just lost them or forgot or whatever. We talked about it at BABSCon and he wanted them again. So they've been delivered in all their glory. Which is a moderate amount. A half full cup of glory.
This story is what I based Cheerilee's Thousand off of. I'd had this idea forever to write a story that was a series of terrible dates for Cheerilee based on that look from Hearts and Hooves Day, but I didn't really know what I wanted to do with it. It was after coming up with both of those hundred word stories that it gelled in my mind. I would write short vignettes.
Thus the idea of Cheerilee's Ninety-Nine was born, and then soon discarded. There was no way that I could write what I wanted to write in ninety-nine words. So it because Cheerilee's Thousand. A thousand chapters of bad dates, each exactly one thousand words long.
Then I ran aground on the rocky shore of Fimfiction's strange word counter. I'd meticulously made these thousand word chapters and they were listed as one thousand thirty-five or something. At that point, I just threw my hands up and decided to just try and keep them short. An intelligent person probably would have switched the name to Cheerilee's Hundred at that point, but I pride myself on my individuality. Why be smart when you can be different? Something seems wrong with my logic there, but I'm too different to figure it out...
But back to this story. It gave me a chance to make fun of shipping and clop, and I like taking any chance to poke fun at that stuff. So if you wanted to get a taste of a slightly more ridiculous and slightly more risqué xjuggernaughtx, well... take a look. I think I'm chapters eighty-five and eighty-six.
Man, who writes this horrible dreck?
Now I know the history behind the name. My curiosity has been sated without incurring your wrath. Whoo!
We all write horrible dreck sometimes, I think. Speaking of shipping and dreadful dates, did you check out my collab yet?
2042838 Nope. It's on my schedule for the weekend. I wanted to read it here at work, but I've had to much to do.
2042881 I await with baited breath.
