Anyone Know Any Good Webcomics? · 2:55pm Apr 24th, 2014
Preferably with links included. Also, huge archive binges would be a nice add on as well. I'm slowly becoming addicted to webcomics, so help fuel my bad habit like the good friends you are! Also, I enjoy action/adventure/comedy types of stories, I'm pretty meh about romance. And no, tumblr ask blogs don't count as webcomics.
Web comics are for pussies.
...Argh, inb4 other 500 followers; xkcd: http://xkcd.com/
The Warehouse is my personal favorite.
Friendship is Dragons is the most recent one I've been keeping up on.
8-Bit Theater is probably my all-time fave.
MLP: The Night That Magic Died is seriously a good one.
2 guys and a guy (http://www.twogag.com/)
Grim tales.(http://grim.snafu-comics.com/)
Meh, better than heroin addiction.
~The lizardman is finished
Dude, you need some music with that.

Whompcomic. You can thank me later
Tower of God is one of my personal favorites. It's a Korean webtoon that gets updated (and translated) weekly, and I very much enjoy it.
It's about a giant tower, right, and if you manage to climb it, you can get anything you want. Anything. To say more than that'd probably start getting into spoilers, but still. It's cool. There's mindgames, plots, and action out the wazoo.
Paranatural too is amazing. It's a more traditional western webcomic about a town infested by ghosts. The guy who writes it has an amazing sense for comedic writing, and it's probably one of the funniest comics out there, while still managing to craft an interesting and compelling story.
Also very neat are:
-Ava's Demon, which is unfolding as a sci-fi story involving a girl and a spirit who seems to be haunting her. Very interesting style.
-Cucumber Quest, which is sort of a lighthearted parody on traditional RPGs and associated tropes, while managing to be an enjoyable story in its own right.
-The Property of Hate, which has an immensely surreal and intriguing setting. It isn't very quick to explain what exactly is going on, but it's slowly picking up steam, and it has quite a few fascinating moments.
Bob And George
Looking For Group
There were a couple good Sonic-themed ones on fireball20xl.com, but I dunno if the site's still running. Fine art on 'em, looked like legit black-and-white Marvel comics.
There is this one.
Been going since 2003, with 2689 pages!
Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal
Precocious
Looking For Group
Girl Genius
White Noise
Strays
Fey Winds
Two Kinds
Dream Keepers: Prelude
Also, the first two printed books are available for free on the site. It is when the main characters are older.
Earthsong
Well, I hope that keeps you busy.
Freefall, the story of a anthropomorphic wolf (a "Bowman's Wolf," of which there are only 15, all genetically engineered) who's a brilliant scientist, an alien named Sam Starfall who pretty much everyone hates (for good reason), and a robot...I forget his name, I haven't read this in forever.
HOMESTUCK.
King of all archive binges. Seriously, this is the archive. Take a look at it, just for size.
And then, of course, much shorter, there's sbahj. The only comic I know which is so bad it's in a perpetual state of crossing the line into good...and then into bad. And then into good again.
I shall feed you addiction like my addiction to caffeine! With lots and lots of junk!
For comedy, action, and my all time favorite...Murder! Check out Looking for Group . Murder makes everything better.
Randomness to the max and mostly comedy check out Cyanide & Happiness with a title like that, you know things will be fun!
If your a comic book nerd like me, check out The Gutters making fun of comics, the writers, the authors, and most of all the fans! Lots of MLP shows up in there.
Finally, if you are a anime fan check out Dragonball Multiverse , great story, better fights, and has every possible ending to DBZ in it...except for if Gohan kept training after Cell...Why Gohan! What did you stop training?! You would have been the super bad-ass!!!
All this talk of webcomics and no mention of The Adventures of Dr. McNinja?
Comedy, action, a bit of adventure, time travel, alternate realities... This has pretty much everything you could ask for and then some. There's a lot to read, though, so be prepared.
Also, at one point, Dracula.
Here
Hmmm...
Nah.

Oh my god, someone else that reads Tower of God! Go Team Tangsooyuk! Go Baam! Go Wagnan!
Seriously though, Bob, you just CANNOT go wrong with Tower of God. It's impossible to explain how amazing it is. Its got so much depth and complexity, so much strategy, and at the same time badass action, along with characters you just can't help but love to pieces. Though technically it's more of an internet-uploaded korean manga, but still absolutely amazing, and you could sink several days into reading it.
Noobs! Plebeians! All of you!
Not really, but boy did I used to kill webcomics... I see a bunch of great names already present down there like Girl Genius. Here's a couple more that I've enjoyed over the years.
Order of the Stick
ZebraGirl
Goblins
Sluggy Freelance
Darths and Droids
Flaky Pastry
Awkward Zombie
Manly Guys Doing Manly Things
Enjoy!

I honestly can't believe it took so many posts, either.
2041944
:D High-fives!
Also: just a note that, in the event Bob actually gives Tower of God a read, your comment technically contains a spoiler. Might wanna edit that out. :V

My order of favorites:
Im surprised not more people mentioned homestuck. I guess my contribution would be sabrina. Wow I keep forgetting how long ago this started.
Like surreal humor and/or after the end settings?
Can't go wrong with Romantically Apocalyptic in that case.
And the art!
romanticallyapocalyptic.com/art/150.jpg
I am not certain how many virgins sacrificed to the art-gods each page needs, but I'd argue it's a fair price anyway.
xkcd is perhaps the most intelligent thing that ever involved stick figures, by turns funny, inspiring, and fascinating. I recommend reading it from newest to oldest, as some of the first ones are more the artist finding his voice than anything. Also, it lets you do the impossible. Oh, and be sure to read the image caption text.
One of the runners up is Order of the Stick (Link takes you to the first comic.) Bear in mind that some familiarity with Dungeons & Dragons is, if not required, then certainly helpful. Still, it's a very well done fantasy epic.
Slightly Damned is quite funny.
Looking for group is a must, as well as Least I could Do (same people make them)
Scandinavia and the World is a quirky but funny comic.
And.....
WHERE ZE HELL IS ZEE CAPTAIN?!?
HE IZ DISAPPOINTED IN ALL OF YOU.
Gotta have dat Romantically Apocalyptic.
Prequel is a good story with pictures that's not quite technically a comic, and one that's actually at least partly reader-driven. It's got a fairly good backlog, but you could probably read it all in about two days, if you also part the video games and the like that come with it.

Have I missed something? I thought that comic is alive and well, it just happens to update about every odd blue moon. Preferably in conjecture with when the continents shift.
Do take a quick look at my post just below, though. Romantically Apocalyptic scratch nearly the same itch for me, just with a bit weirder humor.
One of my personal favorites is Grrl Power, a more realistic comedic take on the super hero genre.
One of my favorite webcomics of all time is El Goonish Shive. I don't know how best to sum it up other than epic.
And then there's Friendship is Dragons, a MLP screencap comic, retelling the plot of Gen 4 as a D&D campaign. It is awesome!
2041948
Editted.
Still, the Workshop Battle was just amazing. I was either squeeing with giddiness at badassery or thinking "Fuck, this shit just keeps getting more and more REAL" by the end of each chapter for it.
2041985
Oh, no, I just meant I missed reading it. (Though I think the author had declared it canceled briefly back in 2009)
2041992
Ah, fair enough.
You must read this, only because this guy made penis jokes funny again.
I am Arg!
It has already been mentioned, but look no further than Girl Genius. Adventure, Romance, MAD SCIENCE! Yes, romance; but this is a steam-punk / gas-lamp fantasy, where two men vying for the attentions of the heroine woo her not with poetry, but with their abilities to construct steam-powered monstrosities and clockwork-operated death-rays. And she then outdoes them both with her own steam-powered clockwork-operated death-ray-bearing monstrosities.
On the topic of MAD SCIENCE! check out Narbonic. Narbonic has completed its run, but it has been succeeded by Skin Horse, which is not about MAD SCIENCE! but about MAD BLACK-OPS GOVERNMENT SOCIAL WORK! You might also note that it's co-creator is one Jeffrey C. Wells, better known in these parts as Skywriter.
Though if it's an archive binge you want, try Sluggy Freelance. It's had a very-nearly daily update schedule since August 1997.
If space opera is more your thing: Schlock Mercenary. Daily updates without fail* since June 2000.
* = well, a few years back the hosting servers caught fire, and it did take Howard Tayler a day or two to find an alternate temporary host.
I could recommend others, but you know me - busy, busy, busy.
Everything that I would suggest...
...has already been suggested. Oh well.

2041898 i was gonna suggetst BnG as well, ooks like i'm not the only one with good taste.
btw, have you by chance read my crossover fic?
2041904 The robot's name is Helix. Sam Starfall is an alien cleptomaniac squid in a bipedal life support suit. There is a long arc storyline involving AI rights. I stopped following every comic.. i dont even follow Penny Arcade anymore... but I still follow Freefall.
So many suggestions already, but just incase:

Possibly counts as an ask/tumblr comic, though not really:
http://prequeladventure.com/ (Elder Scrolls: Oblivion interactive comic.)
Those are the ones I'd recommend, I have a lot more on my list that are pure crap, but I read them because I have read them for years. I have no taste!
Something Positive
I used to read it religiously.
I'm down to just three atm, but they always have something good.
Sequential Art - a continuous, funny story involving anthropomorphic animals and one human, although they all act perfectly human
Oglaf - a collection of NSFW comic that began as porn parodies, but now it's everything and anything. Very well drawn, very funny.
MLP Project - 301 (so far) MLP comic panels by Metal-Kitty on Deviantart. Funny, sad, everything, plus a very good story!
Go Get a Roomie is nice, if you don't mind lesbians and NSFW. Can't link for obvious reasons.
Sandra and Woo
Galaxion
These two are the ones I follow primarily.
