    A quick Slamjam postmortem note

So, the creator of one of the OCs I wrote about just about flipped his lid at me because I gave his character a gay shipping story, ruining his message of platonic bromance and emotionally vulnerable heterosexual dudes.

    Part 1: Poetry

“But I hate poetry” well that’s because you’re doing it wrong. A poem of the type that we were told to write in this class is just a short, condensed piece of work that shows who you are and what you do as a writer.

Lesson 0: Learn the rules before you break them

I know full well that I'm talking down to a lot of people in this post--my excuse is that writing it out is also a way for me to refresh the lessons in my own mind. Story tags are because I plan to go back and "grade myself" based on my own advice as i write these.

    All is right in ponydom

    I know, I said I would do a thing, and then I didn't.

Knighty HATES him! Honolulu-area baker reveals how to improve your writing with 3 simple rules!

I’ve seen it a few times, and you probably have too: people will say stuff along the lines of “I bet this person took a community college course in creative writing and now they think they're so great.” It’s a very resonant insult for classists like me. Leaving, but not going anywhere · 10:33pm Apr 22nd, 2014

Or is that "going away, but not leaving?"

Just wanted to say that I'm actively writing, I promise. I even have a finished draft of the next chapter of Skyborne Dance, as well as some work on the collab with my friend Stereo_Sub. I may not be on fire, but I'm not going into a slump, promise.

It's just that... well...

I'm gonna be flying from Honolulu to Richmond soon. I don't know when I'm coming back. It's not under the greatest of circumstances, but it is my decision, and I've got high hopes for this little experiment.

Another day, another adventure.

I'm not gonna be gone. Even though I'm going far away. I'm leaving. But I'm not going anywhere.

Just like my trip to Florida then? Okay.

Did you one day decide, with no input from your family or friends, to buy a one-way plane ticket?

Nope, I don't really have the money for that. Maybe some day.
