Burying the Hatchet · 11:42pm Apr 18th, 2014
As many of you know, I had something of a falling out with Equestria Daily back in November. I won't go into it here, but the trail of arguments, disagreements, and drama is splattered over my past blog posts and in the I Hate Equestria Daily Group for all to see who care to look at it. Long story short, it ended up with me banned from submitting my stories to the site.
But looking back on it, the whole thing was pretty stupid, and I wasted way more of their and my time with my replies and emails to them than I should have. I was also a bit more passive aggressive and overly sarcastic than I normally am. Which, given how the internet works, isn't quite as perceptible through the written word as it is when you're actually talking to someone.
You probably all know that I'm really sarcastic, and it usually comes out pretty well when I'm speaking, as in my Welcome to Fimfiction video, but when I'm writing, my sarcasm can come off as passive aggressive or insulting to some people.
So, after the issue came up again, I had a chat with Alexstrazsa today. He's the chief of the Fanfic box in EQD, and also someone whom I would consider a friend. He and I reached an understanding, and I am making this blog post to let you all know that I have buried the hatchet with EQD and that there's no bad blood between us.
As far as I'm concerned, my past disagreements with EQD are water under the bridge. If I offended any pre-readers by things I may have said in the past, and you are reading this, I want to express my sincerest apologies. I recognize that no system is perfect, and for me to have expected zero inconsistencies from EQD's story approval process was asking too much for non-paid, non-professional volunteers with diverse tastes and backgrounds who do what they do out of their love of ponyfic.
As Alex has told me, they have taken complaints about their approval process to heart and are working to change their system to make it fairer, more transparent, and more efficient. I wish them the best in this endeavor.

An agreement on teh internetz?
Impozzilbez!
Well, glad that worked itself out bud, what's next on the agenda?
Good job. Burying the hatchet can be difficult when things get ugly, but you did it.
2022670 Probably writing. I might make another video or something now that tax season is over and I'm not working insane hours anymore.
But but where will I get my drama now?
2022706 From the news, I guess. I hear Ukraine's pretty fucked up lately.
I'm glad to hear this, Carts. Good on you!
This blog pleases me
You are right. EQD needs to get better proof-readers, or to improve the current ones. There is simply too much bias there; that would explain everyone hating them and their tile as picky bitches. Sure, I accept when they complain about the writing itself, but when they complain about a story using their own bias opinion, that's just a dick-move.
Overall, EQD is dead to me... still. Maybe if they got payed over there, they wouldn't be so full of shit. You, on the other hand, have nothing to apologize for. I saw your argument, and it was very well against EQD's complaints and their we don't want stereotypes thing.
2023624 I think that presentation is half the battle though, and if I had presented my points better, I might have gotten a better reaction.
Once again restoring my faith in, uh, bromanity? Humans? Equinity? Something.
Anyway, I'm hopeful but I'm certainly not ready to submit anything to them. I barely like most of my own stories, and (gasp!) some of them involve kissing and other skeery gross things.
