So, after driving six hours from Pasadena, I'm now in the San Francisco area attending Babscon. Yays! I'll be on the Fanfiction 101 panel on Sunday, April 20th, and otherwise I'll just hanging around enjoying the pony atmosphere. If your around and about the convention, don't be afraid to hunt me down to say hi. Other than that, I must pass out to recover from long drive.

I just got here a couple hours ago myself... and as I wandered the hotel, I realized that I wasn't find anything author types in the various crowds because all of us authors/fanfic folk aren't out and about like the cosplayers/artists/etc... because we're all in our rooms making blog posts and such.
Anyway, not sure if you've heard through other channels, but there's some attempt to organize a fanfiction meetup around 5pm on Saturday (since there are no other fanfic events that day.) Horizon and Bradel, are (I believe) spearheading things. Might be something you (and anyone else reading this) may be interested in.

I met a couple dA and tumblr artists on the way over, including one of the guys who helped with the con badges, but no fanfic authors as of yet. Then again, I got in pretty late and head up onto my room pretty quick.
I will be meeting up with a friend from this site for breakfast though.
Have fun. I'll be at a funeral so I can't go. So have some fun for me as well.
Wow! That sounds SO cool. I was wondering...do you think it would be the type of thing a really geeky middle schooler who liked comic con would like? Or is it more catered towards adults?

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad you can attend, BABScon looks awesome. I'm from Vacaville, just a few miles northeast of San Francisco, and I would be attending too. But my mother scheduled a trip to Disneyland right over the con.
Now, I had just come to terms with the fact that I couldn't attend the first of this major San Francisco convention, and I've been having a great time here in Anaheim. But now... Now I know that one of my favourite writers on FiMfic is attending as well...
This is saddening, to say the least.
