Captain America: the Winter Soldier. I have seen it! Unmarked spoilers inside! · 10:50pm Apr 13th, 2014

Okay, I saw the titular movie this afternoon. The previews weren't too bad. Only about 20 minutes this time! So...

Spoiler space ahoy!

I loved this movie. From start to finish this one was awesome. I'm still processing what's happened. Admittedly, beyond some stuff like one particular run of the JSA, the DCAU shows starting with Batman: the Animated Series, the MCU and the first two Reeve Superman movies I'm not that big a comic book guy. You say 'New 52' to me and beyond Superman not having red trunks I will have ZERO idea of what's happened in them. So some of the stuff's sailed over my head, like Alexander Pierce being in the comics. I don't know what he did there, don't care too much. i do know the Winter Soldier looks like he stepped out of the gorramed comic pages!

Cap was spot-on. Fury was beyond badass. "You need to keep both eyes open." I... actually liked that Brock Lumlow survived. He's messed up as ALL hell, but still liked that. Falcon was awesome and kick-ass. the reveal that Hydra was SHIELD was a gasp. Also, I'd almost bet real money Zola transmitted himself away before the missiles hit. The whole movie was just... wow.

I'm probably gonna see it again. And I will buy the DVD.

The Zola thing bugged me a bit. The guy's whole thing in the first movie was that he was not willing to die for HYDRA. When he joined OSS, there was no indication that he was doing it for strategic reasons--he was just terrified. Yet now he's calm about a missile leveling his computer system? Not buying it. So yeah-really hope he got away.

2007543 Unless being converted into a computer program did a little number on his sanity subroutine. :pinkiecrazy:

I have never heard of any animated versions of the JSA (Unless you count their expies, the Justice Guild which appeared in a two parter in the Justice League animated series), but there have been a number of incarnations of the JLA that have been animated over the years, though they usually called themselves 'the Super Friends' for some asinine reason or another.

Still, good huh? I'll have to peek in and see it soon.

..Yes I'm a comic book nerd. I regret NOTHING! :pinkiecrazy:

2007573 Sorry. I meant one run of the JSA comic book, not any show they starred in. Although an animated JSA would definitely get my money.

2007582

There are some expies of the JSA in the Justice League two parter called Legends. First season of the show.

2007611 Yup. "In Seaboard, City, crime doesn't pay."

2007620

Ah, so you have seen it. :pinkiehappy:

2007694 Eyup. I've got as much of the DCAU on DVD as I've been able to. For me, it's my DC canon.

2007543 Note that this may be a spoiler, but: in the comics, Zola eventually discovered how to create clone bodies of himself and transfer his mind from one to the other. That may explain his casual attitude to his impending death.

Watched it yesterday, yeah it is freaking awesome.

The scray thing with Zola is that if he transmitted himself then he is no longer constrained by 1960s (or whatever) era technology, his entire mind can be storied on a single HDD now and so on...

God they are going to have one epic movie when Avengers 2 comes out. That put two main plot threads, replicating the Serum and Hyrda's return, into action

2007890 Well, there was a connection to the outside world at large, so yeah. I can definitely see Zola sending himself out of there.

2007918
Even scarier, a computer that is a bigger megalomaniac than GLaDOS on the internet.... oh frak if Hydra infiltrated SHIELD and Congress then what about the Pentagon or NSA... damn this is getting scary

Yeah it was great. Saw it twice.

The action scenes on the ship reminded me of the game Warframe which I am addicted to. I wish combat was as smooth.

Saw it this weekend and Loved every freaking moment of it! Everything was spot on and I especially loved NAtasha
