Hey all, just finished my second playthrough of Dark Souls 2, which was in my opinion extremely better than the borefest of the first game. Though, I do wanna try out the original Dark Souls through a pair of new eyes after finishing its sequel. But, to have some extra fun with it, I've decided that you all will help me!

Basically, you all make suggestions for whatever I do. What class I should chose, what I should do first, weapons, spells, equipment, covenants, how to go about the game, whatever. Make them as crazy or whacky as you can think of, really make it difficult for me. Then, as the story progresses, I write a crossover of it. Most likely involving Twilight being the Chosen Undead. And once I'm all done with the game, I can edit and post the story. Easy enough process, plus, I'm sure it'd be fun to try.
So, throw your suggestions at me as hard as you can, and let's get this bitch started!

Do a Chaos Build: Pyromancy, and Chaos Weapons (I recommend Chaos Greatscythe...). You may have to look up how to get the things for said build though...
Try a pyromancer, melee-only and finish the game on level 1.

Give a Soul Level 1 run a try. (pick Pyromancer, don't level stats, only upgrade armour and weapons)
If you actually do this make sure to buy a few reinforced clubs, clubs, and hand-axes, because you'll definitely want some variation in buffs, and those are pretty much the only weapons you need for SL1 runs.

If you played the first game, you probably won't like Dark Souls 2 as much (because it's not even close to being as good as the first game and Demon's Souls), but it's still fun as all hell despite some balancing issues and the dedicated servers barely improving online play.
Also, starting class is barely important; it only decides your starting stats and equipment, although it is useful to have the variation in base stats, as you can pick a class with very low stats you won't level, and go from there.

Eh, you know how I am with hype. I shit on it. It was fun overall, still kind of boring along with Dark Souls because once you take away that being killed all the time aspect of the game, it isn't too difficult. Hell, I breezed past both games after figuring out the kill patterns. But if that's the type of thing you like, go for it.

Well then, go ahead and get Dark Souls 2 if you're looking for a somewhat challenging game; it's plenty good for new players to the series due to the streamlining. The story isn't a direct continuation from the first either, so don't worry about that.
Go play Demon Souls... even more boring. Fun in some parts, but boring, lol.
Thief's are a really fun class if you like back-stabs and ripostes.
Nothing quite like the feel of seeing enemies just splat and splat as soon as you get the timing down.
