    Ponyfeather Edition of Mendacity!

Very, very belated post, this, and I daresay many folks who would be interested in this have already found out one way or another on their own, but better late than never, I suppose. As of, um, about a month ago, Mendacity is available to order from Ponyfeather Publishing, in both hardcover and softcover editions!

    Not Dead Yet!

Well! Um. It's, ah, been a while, hasn't it? Lots of water under the bridge, lots of stories unwritten, lots of comments unanswered...

    Calling all artists!

Well! The first chapter of my de-ponyfied version of Rise and Fall is complete, and all that remains is the final tidbits and tiddlywinks for those folks who most generously opted for one of the higher reward tiers. I just completed the illustration for the chapter this evening, and, well...My artistic chops, it would seem, are not quite up to

The Rise and Fall of the Dark Lord...Sassafras?

Yes, you read correctly; Sassafras, not Sassaflash. Having mulled the idea over for some time, I've decided it's time I began writing again—and my current rather impecunious state helped me narrow down what to write rather nicely. The possible Celestia fic I mentioned may still happen, but today is not its day—nor will my own worldbuilding yet see dawn, as that's still in rather too

The Rise and Fall of the Dark Lord Sassaflash is Complete!

Exactly what it says on the tin. More than 100,000 words later, my tale of an angsty necromancer and her unflappable minion and friend has come to a close. Here it be. If you haven't already taken a gander, and if you liked Mendacity (or heck, even if you didn't), please, take a look—and if you've

The Annotated Mendacity and The First Law · 2:04am Apr 9th, 2014

So, unhappily, I have no update to The Rise and Fall of the Dark Lord Sassaflash to share with you today. Don't y'all fret none, it's a-comin', but it needs a little time yet to be properly polished; this is going to be a particularly important chapter that poses some unique challenges, and I want to get it right. That shameless tease out of the way, I do have two items of particular interest to share with y'all today, one of which I'm confident that many of you will be particularly interested by, and the other of which I can only hope that you will be. We shall see.

Anyway. First up on the menu is, as you might have guessed from the title, an annotated version of Mendacity, shiny and new for your perusal and enjoyment. I've been working with the well-read and astoundingly diligent Shoggoth Lord on this for about two weeks now, and am very proud to show y'all the results of our work--or, to be perfectly honest, mostly of his work; he's shown an impressive work ethic in putting this together in such a short span of time. Not only will you find details on the real-world mythology behind many of the characters and creatures of Mendacity, but you'll also some insight into hidden details--secret canon, shall we say--that didn't make it into the story proper, but which I came up with while I was devising the details of the Mendaverse. I hope y'all will enjoy it; here it be: The Annotated Mendacity

Now we come to the second item on the agenda today: The First Law. I don't know whether y'all will be interested in this or not, as it's completely un-Pony-related, but since you've enjoyed my previous stories, I thought it only fair to let you know that I'm working on another one--this time, a piece of original fiction. It's a science-fantasy tale, and may be a bit confusing at first, but rest assured that many of the more cryptic details will be fully explained in later chapters. It's currently being hosted over on Wattpad.com, and as of today the first chapter has popped up for all to see; further chapters will, most likely, be popping up at my usual update time of half-past forever. If y'all are interested, I could drop a line here on the blog to let you know when further chapters have been posted; sound like something y'all'd be interested in?

Ooooh! I want to see all! You know I love your story and everything related to it! Also... call me. :raritywink:

Cool beans, friend. It might take me a while to find the time, but rest assured that at least one person here will read these.

I loved The First Law. Updates would be greatly appreciated.

The Annotated Mendacity thingamunjie certainly is interesting. My only (humble) suggestion would be to include anchor links between the footnotes and footnote text a la Wikipedia to facilitate moving between the two...

I just 'pocketed' The First Law and will be reading it in the coming days. Anything I should know about any... let's say, obscure words or tropes that would be best familiarized before a first reading?

I will definitely be perusing First Law, but anything Mendacity related I am quite interested in already. One of my top fics starring Lyra and BonBon. Well mostly BonBon, but that would be too small of a selection to pit this fic against, as it's well capable of standing among the best fics this site has to offer.

Note to self. Bookmark annotated Mendacity for later.

I'll definitely have to give The First Law a shot.

For about five seconds, I thought you were Joe Abercrombie. (Who would not be the person I would have expected to write Mendacity . . .)

Ah! You might want to put some kind of note in Mendannotation to the effect that the notes are at the back of the book, and possibly a link like 1993537 said.

A small suggestion: add a link to the Annotated Mendacity to the description of Mendacity here at FIMFiction. Seems like a proper place for it, and will help readers who stumble into Mendacity find the annotated version.

Added it to my list of things to read thanks to a little signal boost, but I'm not sure if I will be reading it soon; too clogged up read later list.

That original story, really good so far. Actually managed to draw me in within the first 3 pages. Keep me updated on progress, please.
