Spelunking - I'm Doing It · 5:37pm Apr 8th, 2014

A while back, I posted a rather mature Rumble Bloom story idea in The Idea Factory. It was a thought for a clopfic I wanted someone to write called "Spelunking". After some careful consideration and planning, I decided to write it. However, I rejected the idea of going full-clop, instead opting for a more lighthearted shipping angle, and wrote and published the first chapter early this morning at about 2:30 am. When I finally went to bed at 4:30, I expected some kind of passing fancy regarding this sweet, funny little romance I eventually boiled it down to. What I never expected was the most upvotes I've ever gotten on one story at first post.

Twenty-seven-to-none thumbs-up and thirty-three Favourites in eight hours. (as of first write)

I know that there are authors that get that kind of thing in minutes, but it's still pretty sweet. Thanks to all of you who took an interest in this project. I hope I can continue to earn the Faves and thumbs I've been given. You all rock.

It's an honor to be part of the droves of supporters, Zyth. You've got a good thing going here!

It's not even good.
Where's the giant robots? Where the hell is the police chase scene?

The giant robots will explode into action December 15, as part of a scheduled first season to coincide with Universe 52's seventh season of My Little Pony-Bot: Friendship is Steel.

1992253

And then I was friendship.

1992264
The slogan of the show:
May the steel that kills us bind us forever in friendship!

1992337

Oh God, that sounds like a lotta work for one Killer Steel!

1992343
You're one busy Frodo in U-52. And you're not paid a red cent to do it.
However, in U-247,316, you're filthy rich and don't work at all.

And in U-2, I'm a guitarist making minimum wage.

1992625
Yeah... actually, I think U-52 is profiting from all of your other universes. Especially UHF KillerSteel. Be glad you're not him.

Good stories deserve good ratings :3

1993440

I'd much rather be UEF KillerSteel if you ask me.

1993583
UEF? Exterminate the silence between now and an explanation, please. :raritystarry:

The glorious United Earth Federation, of course! Stalwart force of honor and duty against those Cybran Nation chipheads and the Aeon fanatics! We have been fighting for a thousand years against these two enemies and their leaders, the fanatical Princess Burke and the insane Doctor Brackman!

Our access to nanotechnology has accelerated our construction of armies a hundred thousand fold! We can cover an entire planet in loyal troopers in mere days, and our nuclear arsenal is something to behold. Even the planets beyond our reach will be brought under our banner before long thanks to the expanding Quantum Network allowing us to jump between star systems in mere seconds.

We are a nation to be respected! A force of nature to be feared! We have conquered all before us, and only the chipheads and fanatics are left. And they will not last long...

Time for the Infinite War to end.

1993665
Ah, I remember hearing about some half-wits who were using outdated quantum physics to conquer the universe. Luckily, the Canadian Legion discovered nychra physics ten years ago. Faster-than-instant travel meant spaceships, nukes, and large space battles were rendered obsolete. I seem to remember you only got those nanomachines through a pretty impressive intel op that went wrong when your guys grabbed a phial of nanoparticles, which were placed just to the left of the Complete Nychra Molecule phial.

That was close.

1993779

Good thing I'm also part of the Canadian Legion!

1993834
The Canadian Legion which is a part of the Canadian Corporation which answers to the Canadian Monarchy whose capital is located in the Canadian Wasteland Formerly Known as Earth which is owned by Canadian Intergalactic?

That Canadian Legion?

Or is it the Canadian Legion which is owned by private business owner Chuck Norris (and no, not the one in movies, but one that looks a lot like him but isn't because he's a spy for the Pastafarian Ninth Reich) who got it from the Salvation Army who created it in partnership with Compassion Interuniversal?

1993845

I dunno, actually. Their banners look really similar...

1993900
...actually, yeah. I never thought about it. I joined the one owned by Chuck Norris, then made the mistake of going to a camp with the other Canadian Legion. I mean, how was I supposed to know the difference between red-blue and purple? Clarity, people! Clarity!

1993961

I know! It's like trying to tell the difference between white chocolate and milk chocolate! THEY TASTE THE SAME!

1993977
...erm, white chocolate is white, while milk chocolate is darker. My favourite is dark chocolate, though. Sp'ifically, 70%. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

1994007

Gah, I hate the bitterness of dark chocolate. Gimme milk chocolate any day, that melt-in-your-mouth sweetness is irresistable.

1994687
Mmm... dark chocolate... Heaven... :raritystarry:
I think I like it because it's a treat I don't have very often. It has a richness that milk chocolate doesn't have.

1994699

Honestly, all it reminds me of is how bad chocolate can taste without sugar. Call me a child, but my sweet tooth kinda needs something sweet to be satisfied.

But, to each their own. I won't dismiss that dark chocolate can taste good on occasion.

1994840

Two Equines Talk Ostriches?

1994846
To Each Their Own, but that works! :rainbowlaugh:
