So, depending on your time zone depends on which of those is true, but in about 12-15 hours I'll be submitting my one shot.
After this one-shot, I'll be continuing the next chapter of Hoard. I'm gonna try to push for a pre-new year update, but with both of my original editors MIA, as well as the likely size, I'm not sure how realistic that is.
So yeah, 11k words and 43 pages later! Now the editing can begin and then the posting.
Editing has a way of adding another 1000 words at this size, should be fun.
Anyways, prepare the tissues you'll be needing them!

P.S. Spike's voice in this is pretty cool. It's not a bad ass sort of voice, but more of a slightly battle-worn one. Plus, I think it's cool his picture at the end and voice implies that he's in his mid-late teens.

At least we can say this is actually a good source for Fanfic Fuel for either a Transformers Crossover or something along the lines, remember that Spike is a character name shared with them.
I mentioned the possibilities of a crossover because not just this seems to be an open transmission message trought outer space (kind of like what Optimus Always do in the movies and in Prime/Beast Hunters) but how is as you mentioned some kind of battle worn special forces (Division arm six, AKA: The Mane 6) agent codenamed "Spike" who is implying that Equestria got lost for a long time ago, the ponies/humanized/antropormorphic ponies survivors are now wandering in space looking for a planet to live in peace and harmony.
I wouldn't be surprised if this particular team aboard the Celestia (Ship named after the late Princess Celestia who fought to the end to give Ponykind time to escape) stumbles with Earth almost at the same time as the Cybertronians and they also try to blend in the enviroment and in their case also with the native race of humanity by taking human form some little details like hair/mane and eye color could be easily passed off as dye and color contacts while their clotches would actually be the color of their fur, maybe them getting themselve involved with the Cybertronian conflict due to principles and considering the declaration of Spik in the transmission ("As long as there's discord in the universe, We. Will. Keep. Fighting.") is something to say about it, they will befriend the Autobots and their human allies which also be vital to learn how to blend in human society and learn from them.
Also the codename Dragonfire could imply a triple crossover with G.I.JOE as well if we consider there was a particulary large saga in the Generation 1 called "Operation Dragonfire". This could mean that maybe the Joes would be involved more actively, and eventually giving them a more official "first contact" (seccond actually) along with the Cybertronians
