It's been a good week for Sunflower! · 4:17am Apr 2nd, 2014
Well, what can I say? Wow... Just, wow. You guys are great! I submitted Project Sunflower: Harmony before I left for work on Monday, and by the time I got in it had already been published and was in the feature box
I mean, every author wants success for their stories, and I won't lie and say I wasn't really, really hopeful that it would end up in the ol' feature box, but I was not expecting this great of a reaction! So, thanks, everyone!
And then there's one other thing... see, many months ago, I submitted the original Project: Sunflower for consideration at Equestria Daily. They declined, very politely, citing some grammar and punctuation issues with the story. Now, I was aware that there were some issues in that regard, so wasn't upset by the rejection. Heck, even to this day I get readers pointing out little "whoopsies" in the text. I always intended to go back through and fix those errors and resubmit, but you know how it is... Other stories started taking up more and more of my time, and I just never got around to it.
Well, imagine my surprise (and, I admit, mild skepticism, considering the date) when, without any resubmission on my part, I received an email out of the blue from the EqD pre-readers saying that they'd actually changed their minds, and now they're going ahead and featuring it!
To say that I was floored would be a massive understatement.
So, again, I say thank you to all of my readers! So many of you have spotted typos and issues in my stories for me to correct, and I believe it's largely because of that reason that I now have Project: Sunflower up on EqD. And, thanks to the EqD pre-readers for giving me this second chance!
Seriously, this has just been an amazing week for Sunflower! Lyra, Spectral Charm, what score do you give for this week so far?
Oh, Lyra. Never change
Thanks for reading!

I want to make a short piece about Discord pranking you over this. Turns out, he's been the pre-reader (along with other villains) on EQD the whole time!
(Also, I loved that scene with Lyra to death )
Congratulations, Hoopy!
Oh Lyra... Never change. PLEASE never change...
Hey, Mazel tov! You've definitely earned all of the acclaim.
Congrats!
1975969 This explains SO MUCH.
Yaaaay~
I'm so happy for all the success. Sunflower is worth it. :D
Congratulations.
I still think EQD are a bunch of elitist pricks though. That take pleasure in finding one period or comma in the wrong spot just to deny a story
Equestria Daily, Translated: Uh, whooops? You wrote a great and highly popular story, our rejection of it made us look stupid, so now we're accepting it in the hopes of making everyone forget our goof. Please pretend the rejection never happened.
Still, it's nice that they've realized what a wonderful story Project Sunflower is and always was. Now if they could just get up the courage to publicly admit they were wrong.
Awesome!
A story so grand that it even breaks through EQD's established proof-reader system?
Buck the rules, have some more awesome-sauce!
...
Aaaaaallthough I suppose EQD pre-readers made an exception regarding their perfectionistic approach to spelling-, gammar- and formatting requirements, mainly because your story fit with their April Fools day theme of "Equestria Daily 2045". Errr.
Still, your story is in good company:
The other story they approved that day, "Friendship is Optimal", is a highly thought-provoking philosophical science fiction piece already published in 2012. It first sporned a spiritual successor - and then an entire group of side-stories. Something certainly worthy of an EQD feature - but alas, it slides into the "no Bronies in Equestria"-trap. Sort-of.
As in, there are Bronies in it. But that doesn't mean all protagonists are.
It definitelly says something about "Project Sunflower" if it is one out of the two first stories that come to mind of EQD's staff when thinking of "good MLP sci-fi previously not featured on EQD".
Congrats Hoopy! About time they realized their mistake and finally gave it the attention it deserves.
Congrats my friend, you earned it.
I'd like to note that as of right now, Project Sunflower: Harmony has exactly 666 likes.
It wasn't featured on EQ originally? Up until Rescue came out, it was the single highest-rated "human" (complete) fic on fimfiction.
Plus the way it starts, I can get people to start reading it and by the time they realise it's a fimfic, they're already hooked and forced to read the rest!
