Chapter 67 & Release 65 · 6:21pm Mar 28th, 2014
Blarg. Had to get up super early this morning, and then I had insomnia last night, so I'm running on about an hour's sleep. I'll keep this short. I'm still sick. I think there's some sort of fluid buildup in my ears now, and I'm going to have to make a new appointment. My writing ability has slowed to a crawl due to feeling like crap, so as a heads up, I'm probably going to have to skip next week to try to catch up my buffer again and get new chapters back from my editor. I'm sorry, everypony. Mer. I feel really badly because I'm seriously falling behind and it's beyond frustrating, especially to all my loyal readers who have hung on throughout this project. I know everypony always tells me that my health comes first, but I just don't want to disappoint anypony. Well, I hope all of you are doing good, and the chapter will be released in a few minutes. Oh, and 67 is done, but I'm way, way to sore and tired to update the database right now...
The only way you will disappoint me is if you don't take care of yourself.
Get well, THEN get writing.
Clearly I did not post enough alpacas last time if you are still feeling sick. Hopefully this will help you sleep.

Kiro, there's no way you could disappoint any of your readers right now. Focus on getting well, and only then should you worry about trying to 'catch up' on your writing. I think Kaille said it best there in her comment.
Stay healthy, do what you need to do to be successful, and only then should you worry about appeasing your readers. We can wait.

Get better and take as many breaks as you need. Your writing speed is still ridiculous and envy-inducing, so don't worry when you have so much content already. If you somehow forced everyone to go re-read everything, we'd all be content for around 9 or more weeks. Your fretting makes me consider lobotomizing whatever part of that brain that keeps bringing it up.
On another note, I remember from a ways back that your birthday is coming up. Definitely want to do something for you, and given I made something for Azu's day there is no way I'm not doing anything for you. Just not sure what yet. And not going to force finishing the Pending Soundtrack, will do something else...

Hmm... I'm seeing a similarity between Mender and the author...
Of course, that's bound to happen to any truly developed character in a story. The author can only write about things that they know of and the things that they are most aware of are parts of themselves. It's normal, and no, I don't think this is, was, or ever will be a self-insert because of it.

It seems funny to me but the more blog posts I read the more you sound like a (almost) resolved mender. I know that writer = character isen't new but it is really cute sometimes. (Like in your case)

But no, in all honesty, Mender is very much not like me. In some regards, I envy bits of his personality, and in other times, I definitely don't. However, I think every character we write have facets of ourselves in them. 
It's an interesting concept to consider. I do have a 'ponysona' of sorts however, if you've noticed my avatar.
Ha! I hope it's not a self-insert. If I went through even a tenth of what I put Mender through, it would undoubtedly kill me.

Regardless, he does have some facets of my personality. Neither of us handle praise/gifts well, and he also has my dislike of crowds, albeit to a much softer intensity. He's far more outgoing than I am, and able to be significantly more spontaneous, which I wish I could be. I think situations out far better than him however, as he has a tendency to just blunder into something without considering things. He also tends to be far more negative than I, which surprises me a bit but he evolved into that. I've done a lot of examining of his personality, yes. 
I've also noticed the similarity at times. If you saw a couple posts back, you'd note my short story about him cursing me.
