The end is nigh!
That's right, the final installment of "The Life and Times of a Winning Pony" has gone out. It'll all be over soon. It's crazy to think about, considering how much time and energy I've put into the story. Winning Pony's been a huge project, much bigger than my original vague concept of doing something with Cloud Kicker and Blossomforth. I have to say, I'm proud of how it turned out. Granted, the final revisions to the story before the possible print version are going to be fun, since in addition to final grammar checks I'll be doing things like going back to those one or two scenes that didn't turn out well, and raking them over the coals.
In other news, "Princess Twilight's Profoundly Peripheral Protector" should be going up late tonight, barring unexpected developments.
This story is actually gonna have an ending. I am shocked
Excellent. I'm sad to see it go, but you did say that there would be more CK on the future, yes? Of course there is also The Lunar Rebellion to look forward to.
Let me know when the printed book comes out! I will be first in line for a copy (figuratively speaking, of course.)

Question two. Will the involve cleaning up some of the Early Installment Weirdness?
an example that comes to mind immediatly is the seciond chapter, where Dash is all huggy-kissy with Pinks even though later on it's established that Dashie's not comfortable with such things, and Cloud noting that if Dash is no longer her boss to "Polightly Inquire as to the Possibility of a Threesome" when later chapters establish that She likes having Dash as an entirely Platonic Friend and has already been with Pinkie, which makes her speculation on Pinkie's Prowess in the bedroom a bit Silly
Question 3. This other Story takes place in Season 4, yes? Will be be seeing anything in season 3 from a Winningverse Perspective?

I don't know how to feel about this.
Endings are bittersweet at best. Still, Cloud's journey has definitely been completed. More would be gilding the lily. Or the Blossomforth, as the case may be. (Besides, you're probably running out of Charlie Sheen paraphrasings.)
In any case, you've given us a fascinating slightly-alternate Equestria, and I look forward to seeing what you and others do with it. Congratulations on making an unexpected success. In my experience, they're the best kind.

There's no reason not to improve the online version while we're fixing things, and any bits in the early chapters that don't line up neatly with the main story will be included in the revisions.
As for whether there'll be anything Winningverse in Season Three? Probably, just a matter of story ideas and inspiration.
I look forward to seeing the ending. I think I can finally, though still confusing, start this madness of a verse that spans untold amounts of stories. Your chapters should have optional links to relevant side stories in their author's notes section, it's what I'd do if people wanted a behind the scenes of canon relevant approved stories.

Yay, as much as I love this story (and I love it a lot) I think it's time for it to end. Also, as sad as it makes me to say it, please don't do a direct sequel story (side stories are fine) but I think this horse has run its race if you know what I mean.
Well, it's been fun. At least we'll still have the Lunar Rebellion...

1944749 maybe if you continue it you should kinda splice season 3 and 4 together. the third season was rather short and i do not know how much material you could use from it.
Wow....I knew it had to end someday but I didn't think it would be now. Wanted to see Cloud's life trying to adjust with Flutters and Blossom with her in a herd. But still for this story the timing isn't that bad really. If i remember right this last chapter will also have a lot Pinkie and Dash finally resolving some of their physical issues, but that might be a different story linked to this series. ^^;;
And there's always potential for more stories about CK's life to bloom from this one, and I'll look forward to seeing them eventually.

I always kind of wondered (in light of later chapters) exactly what possessed Cloud to hit on Derpy in the first place, since that is both the hinge pin of pretty much the whole story, and also something that she later made it clear that her personal rules usually forbade, except when she obviously just lost her mind in this case. Especially since she was right, in that it did fuck up her life pretty badly for a while.

I can't believe Winning Pony is finally coming to a close after so long. It's without a doubt my favorite fanfic that I've read, and I can't wait to see what you move toward in the future. I don't know what else to say other than thank you, and I don't think there's anything I want in the world right now more than a print copy
This has been the fic that got me into reading fanfiction in the first place. I'm really excited, and at the same time sad that it'll be done! I hope the spinoffs live on, especially the Lunar Rebellion!
