Any of you out there on the fence as to whether or not to try Warframe? It's a third-person sci-fi shooter with some pretty good customization options. I'm not here to twist your arm on it but the game is free to play so there's really nothing to lose from trying it. And if you sign up using this here handy dandy link it signs you up with me as your referrer and gives me cool free stuff. It is due to the aforementioned free stuff that I decided "Eh, what the hell. Let's see if anyone on Fimfiction wants to give it a shot." So there you go.
Edit: Also, you have to complete 10 missions to count as referred. If you enjoy the game enough to do that, awesome. Let me know and I'll add you to my friends list so we can party up. If not, hey no big deal. You tried it and it wasn't for you. I'm not that hard up for free stuff.
I play the game myself, and I enjoy it. Ya gotta love using swords and guns on bad guys...
Already playing it and my ign is "clonezero" as well. If anyone needs help with anything in the game pm me here or in the game.
Oh and to add to the OP's post the game does have micro transactions but everything in the game can be obtained without you having to pay a cent!

Not everything. In the interest of full disclosure, weapon slots and warframe slots are bought with cash currency though they do give you 50 platinum when you start the game and warframe slots are 20 platinum each and weapons slots are 12 platinum for 2.

True but you can trade in rare mods, bps and parts you get in missions for plat as well. if you get lucky in t3 exterminate you can get rhino prime parts/bps and those can go up to over 100 plat when you sell them.
The only true rare items in the game are those from events and mini bosses. *cough* Primed Chamber *cough*

Oh, I didn't realize I could sell my stuff for plat. I just figured I'd have to pay for cash shop items. Well that's an interesting twist. I like the game though so I may end up buying some platinum just to support the devs anyway.

Nothing wrong with that! Though I highly suggest waiting for the 75% off on plat purchases you can sometimes get as a daily bonus if you ever plan to get more in the future.
Oh and to warn you unless something is in high demand atm (aka rhino prime parts/ new prime weapons) pretty much everything is sold at really really cheap prices.
