The Heart's Promise - Released into the Wild

I normally announce new stories with a good old fashioned blog post, and I neglected to this time. No longer. We must maintain the traditions of old.

For all of those who missed the debut... Behold!

Edit: In the Absence of Twilight Sparkle Chapter

Just wanted to let you know I made a mistake on the most recent chapter of ItAoTS. I erroneously described Dr. Twilight's lab as being on the ground floor of the Magic School, while its actual location is the second floor. This is kinda a big detail to just switch around. It's fixed

I Made an A.I. Re-Write Scenes from my Fanfics

This is partially to make up for National Not Writing Month, which I participated in by not even writing a single thing last month. November is always waaaaay too busy for me to make much progress (I'm busy doing my part for wildlife conservation), and it turns out the current state of the world did not change a dippy-trippy thing.

But anyway! :pinkiecrazy: A.I. writing fanfic!

Yo, remember that Star Wars Podcast I'm part of? We've got 11 episodes now!

I wanted to bring special attention to episode 11 itself, where my friend and I discuss our top five favorite Star Wars Expanded Universe novels. Our main focus is on Star Wars before Disney bought it, that bygone time now known only as Legends.

Sentimental Sedimentary Spoilers · 10:41pm Mar 15th, 2014

This episode was so sweet. Fun, sweet, and cute. I enjoyed it quite a bit.

Very in keeping with my head-canon for the pies. Mostly serious folks, who nevertheless love Pinkie and wish her the best. I especially liked Maud's small smile at the train station, it made for a very nice ending.

They had a lot of fun with Dash in this episode, I think. "He's a ROCK!" :rainbowlaugh:

So, the sisters names are Pinkie, Maud, Limestone, and Marble. M'kay, m'kay. What about their parents? I still think of Daddy Pie as being named Clyde (Clydesdale), but there's really no good precedent for Mommy Pie. I think i'll go with Sweet Potato (Sweet P.) until proven wrong.

Tank is still the best pet, but Boulder is a close second.

Pinkie's parents are named Igneous Rock and Cloudy Quartz. Just throwing that out there. :raritywink:

Maud's character keeps in my headcanon too, but in a different way. I think she's proof that everypony in the Pie family is a little bit off. Not exactly off-the-wall bonkers like Pinkie is, but definitely not on the same wavelength as everypony else.

Ah, thanks. I guess those names rock hard enough.

Bwah, hah, hah. I'm more of a mineral man, myself.
...

I put the mental in elemental.

Aaand, that's my cue to stop.

I think of them as less "off" than they are "extreme." Pinkie's very extreme about laughter, while Maud is very extreme about... rocks. Actually, there's evidence that the entire family is extreme about rocks, but Pinkie herself just couldn't get into it unless there was sweeties involved.

Not off, just... sitting on the very edge of the spectrum. But that's just how I sees it. :pinkiehappy:

The original artist-given names for the family were Inkie, Blinkie, Clyde, and Sue (Clyde's replacement in Ms. Pac-Man).

Also, I think this is the first time I've ever seen a Goth geologist. :trollestia:

Oh, hay, that's right! Thanks for the info. Sometimes details like that just--swoop--slip my mind.

Hmm. On a slight tangent, I have half a mind to rewrite Giggle at the Ghostly using the canon names, now that they're set in stone, as it were.

Also, I think this is the first time I've ever seen a Goth geologist. :trollestia:

Hee. :twistnerd: I don't know if it makes too little sense, or too much.

"The rock I most identify with is sedimentary, because it has so many layers and goes so deep."

"I also identify with igneous, because I was born out of fiery rage."

"Metamorphic also close to my heart, because I express myself in so many ways."

...

Ooh, she's gonna be fun to write! :pinkiehappy:
