When Pinkie Pie's sister comes to town, the girls find her much different than Pinkie described.
Whoops I forgot it was an hour earlier this week because of American daylight savings D:
Awesome as buck picture!
This episode rocked.
Like a rock.
The day is brighter.
The brightness illuminates the ground.
The ground of rocks.
These are my sediments.
my favorite part was when she was saving pinkie the sheer speed and awesomeness was really exciting for me SHE WHITTLED A BOULDER WITH HER BARE HOOVES AWESOME
I do abmit this episode was extremely chariming and funny at the same time
but the sister love those.......
With that strength and eating rocks...Are the Pies part dragon?
I guess I expected too much out of this episode. It was good, but it felt kind of weak to me.
This episode was . . . rock solid! *dodges bullet*
Great episode but one thing WHERE WAS SPIKE!?
I hope there's a Character Tag for Maud.
The great thing about it was, it was so understated.
She and Pinkie totally understand and accept each others' personal styles. It's like, how do you know she's NOT your friend? Because she's not acting like Pinkie? Pinkie can even tell when she's super excited (pro tip: she looks pretty much exactly the same). They can both tell that the other girls are put off, but they have no resources for explaining Maud until the girls see Maud defending Pinkie in spectacular rock-shattering fashion.
Then they get it—but it's the same Maud as it was before, same tone, same everything. They just learned something about her that broke their expectations, and got more openminded.
Goth Pone is best pone
*Sees Pinkie Pie in the opening with goggles and sky-blue*
Say my name.
Hiesenpie-
You Celestia-darned right!
I'm sorry, but I had to. Pinkie Pie looked like she was straight out of Breaking Bad with that outfit along with that rock candy in the beginning.
Did anyone else hear Pinkie say "RariTwi"?

I don't think Maud is goth, just monotone, monosolovic, and very very down to earth. She's not nihilistic about the world
1927676
Just very, apathetic about everything. She's less goth and more- "eh." Sadly, I know people like that
Maud is the coolest Earth Bender around.
Heh, I rather liked Maud and the episode itself. I didn't quite understand why everyone else was so off put by her though. Her poetry wasn't the best but I'm not really much of a judge of that and honestly it sounds like about half the poetry I hear everyone praise so I'm probably wrong there. Other than that I thought she emoted well enough.
That episode was really good
1927637 I'd rather have no Spike than abused, running-gag Spike. So sick of that crap.
The voice of Maud Pie was that of Mai form "Last Airbender"
1927637 As usual, the writers can't decide if Spike is really friends with anyone other than Twilight.
Come on, clop writers! I dare you to write a clop story featuring Maud (while keeping her in-character).
I will not stand any Boulder x Tom ships, though.
Maud has so much in common with Rarity, though. She has her Boulder while Rares has her Tom, they both know their rocks... I think we can safely overlook the fact that one's voice is performed by the best VA around and the other's by a text-to-speech engine.

^Gettin' some serious Imperial German Army vibes
Man, I loved that episode. I can't help but appreciate it even more because it reminded my of my own relationship with my brother. He tends to be the extrovert and I'm more of an introvert but we still get along and understand each other's personality differences.
I'm guessing Boulder is Tom's son? Because he really was a chip off the old block...
Well, this episode changed my headcanon on Earth Ponies. They aren't stronger/enduring/connected with nature etc.
They're Benders of their talents.
Earth Ponies are OP.
Maude is cool. It's hard to describe but she just has an sir of cool around her. I can see why Pinkie looks up to her so much.

Maud Pie can shatter a rock with a single hoof strike.
Applejack's "powerful" buck can shake trees.
inb4 a "PinkieRainbowRariTwiAppleFlutterMaud Fun Time" story.
What is a rock?
A rock is grey
And hard
And quiet
I too am grey
I too am hard
I too am quiet
I too am a rock
-Maud Pie
I find it interesting to note how MUCH stronger Maud is than AJ. Maud threw that rock with more force and distance than AJ did in Fall Weather friends when she threw that haybale. And that was presumably with Maud not even trying very hard as she "doesn't like winning"
This was such a great episode! I really enjoyed it all throughout. It was very cleverly written, especially compared to the last few, which felt a little flawed. I think it is definitely one of the strongest episodes of this season. I was expecting Maud to be Blinkie or Inkie, and that they changed her name, but I suppose Pinkie has three sisters, now! That will save the fandom from some trouble. Actually, when Maud was missing in her first introduction, I thought she was going to be a figment of Pinkie's imagination.
But I really loved her character. She really reminded me of Eska from Legend of Korra. And it turns out she's a pretty kickass earthbender! I was just waiting for her to call somepony a feeble turtle duck. It's so humorous to see her next to her opposite sister, but it was great to see how much she loved her by the end of the episode. The way she "raised her voice" was rather charming. And that rock poem was one of the funniest things ever.
Heartwarming episodes like this why I really love this show!
Mmmm, rocks.
*Salivates*
The poetry needs to become a meme. It's shown up twice in these comments so far, and that's a good start, but I will be severely disappointed in the fandom if it stops there.
Anyway, Maud is possibly my favorite new character of the season. Ya done good, new writer.
what even was the moral?
It's okay to not make friends with everyone, just be honest?
But then they, like, did in the end?
People express that they're friends in different ways, you have to be understanding?
But, like, they played that for laughs?
Being an autistic savant gives you super strength?
...I'll go with that.
It's honestly misguided to boil an episode down to its moral, but there wasn't really a consistent theme otherwise. It was entertaining, but not what I'd call great.

I noticed that Maud smiled as she recited this piece. I think it was something truly from her heart (like any good poetry should) and speaking it made her feel good.
1927923
"Look for what you truly have in common, not what other people say you should have in common."
Or, possibly:
"Friendship is something that you work to create, not something that just spontaneously happens."
1927949
but they didn't have something in common
they had a friend in common that they both cared for--that's not a basis for friendship, that's a basis for acquaintanceship at best.

Maud is credit to team!
I was pleasantly surprised to see Maud dig through that boulder. That gives me more ideas for a story I am working on.
Love love when maud sliced that boulder most awesome part of the episode and when will we get maud pie emojis???
i liked it
Maud is Father Stone's ponysona.
No, really.
1927923 I don't see Maud as autistic- merely unexpressive.
1927980
Yeah, that was just a joke, don't worry. I meant it less because of how she acted and more because of her fixation on rocks. Sorry for the potential offense!
Maud Pie is Best Pony. The subject is closed for discussion.
I don't dislike Maud as a character, but I do think she is darn hard to write well, given how inexpressive she is — and I don't think the author succeeded. I sincerely found the episode boring.
1927786
Maud x Tom.
1927841
If she actually tried to compete, she would be the undefeated ironpony. Or, at least, if the competition involves rocks in any way
I liked the episode, honestly, but the more I think about it the more Maud comes off as a self-insert Mary Sue fan fiction character.
She was faster than Rainbow Dash.
Twilight just stood there while an avalanche threatened Pinkie and let Maud shatter boulders, free Pinkie and carry her to safety.
Rarity's talent for gems didn't even get a mention.
The boulder shattering was fine, they could have kept that, but they really should have done something with the other ponies instead of just having them stand on the sidelines being awed by how awesome Maud was.
P.S.
How the heck do we give an awesome thumbs up to that artwork. That is amazing.
Pet Boulder.
