First off I'd like to thank you all for the support, you're all awesome lads and ladies and I'll sacrifice ten non believers in the name of the glorious Monolith so your lives may be prosperous forever.
Second, I'd like to address an issue: what's up with the downvotes? I hate it when someone rates my work negatively and doesn't even bother to explain WHY they didn't like it. It's irritating, to say the least. I've had a few constructive comments on my previous fic, some of which were brutal but to the point, and that helped me to progress A LOT. Speak up, people.
Third, the typos. Yeah, I didn't send chapter 1 to Alfamaxis so he could proofread it. I did do it with the prologue, though. Also, for everyone who didn't, go read the README. There's a reason it's called that.
And last but not least, fourth: the 'Princess Twilight' issue.
Let me be clear: I never liked Princess Twilight. Her character is okay, but I never liked the idea behind it.
Why?
Because it's illogical. It doesn't make sense. Le me explain.
!INCOMING RANT!
First, we had Celestia and Luna, princesses of Day and Night; a fairly common trope. The both of them are often opposed, allied, represented by characters, gods, etc... I had no problem with those two.
Then, Princess Cadance came along, completely unannounced yet known by many important characters in the show. Rule #5o'clock of writing: MENTION YOUR SHIT BEFORE YOU USE IT. As FIM is a little girl's show, I'll let that one pass. It's okay.
What bugged me is that Cadance had no continuity with the other princesses. While Celestia and Luna represent Day and Night, forces of nature, Cadance is a princess of... Love.
Okay then. Weird, but I suppose it's fair enough, there are many religions that have gods of love, lust, and whatnot. I can suspend my disbelief.
I would rather have a princess of, I dunno, Fire, Water, or any of the four elements... but only these elements, not those.
Speaking of those elements, let's get back to Twilight.
Her ascension was... unannounced, again, and don't throw at me these 'hints' that have been scattered along the show, because the writers couldn't get arsed to properly introduce Twilight's fucking brother, despite having shown snippets of her past.
But I digress. what makes me say that Princess Twilight is illogical is that she's the princess of fucking Friendship.
That's a first. What's next, a princess of Anger? Maybe a Prince? Oh, I know! It'll be Bruce Banner!
...
It's unneeded, and Twilight herself doesn't represent friendship, she merely studied it. What represents friendship and harmony are Twilight and her friends, not just Twilight. Celestia may represent the Sun and the daylight, Luna may be an allegory of the Moon and the night, Cadance may embody Love, but Twilight is not friendship personified. Ponified. Whatever.
Also, the way she ascended was... a letdown. Finish a spell, get a song, sparkles, magic and Boom, princess delivery. What about Starswirl the Bearded, who, according to the show himself, created more magic and spells than any of the princesses combined?
Weird.
So there's that and the fact that it adds nothing to the show apart from the fact that we see even less of Celestia, which doesn't make me happy, you'd have guessed.
Should have been titled princess of Harmony, mayyyyybe, just mayyyybe I could have suspended my disbelief. The very title is what bothers me.
SO. That's why in my fic, Twilight won't be princess of Friendship, but of Harmony. Sounds better, doesn't it?
Oh well.

About Cadence... in my headcanon there are 5 Alicorns to have existed, and at the moment only four are alive. Four of the Five are aligned to an Element (and parent domain). Celestia is the Sun and Fire, Luna is the Moon and Water, Sejr (deceased) is the Earth and Earth, Cadence is the Sky and Wind. Twilight is Harmony.
1908947 In my head canon, there is no such thing as Princess Mi Amore Cadenza, or Alicorn Princess Twilight Sparkle. Only a random unicorn/pegasus that was mutated by the various radiations(magic) on the planet, and a Twilight Sparkle that suddenly grew wings in the middle of the Void, not even being at a Stronghold to defend Sunbutt and herself from the various Things that roam the Void.

yesh... it was bad enough when I did that after getting my wisdom teeth taken out and not using the good stuff... or going to class the day after getting knee surgery done
1909800 I can only reminisce about all the times my brother stole my wheelchair and hid it somewhere in the hotel while on vacation shortly after said surgery. I had to use the fracking crutches to get around. Do you know how hard it it is to traverse two flights of stairs using crutches because you forgot there was an elevator?
Also, why'd you get knee surgery? My reason is that my old plastic knee(lost the original to a parkour mishap when I was nine) had deteriorated over time, and then bucked by a two month old colt that I had somehow managed to startle while on leave in September.

Yeah I made sure to take the elevator, though getting from my dorm to the science building was fun on crutches.
Damaged it roundhouse kicking a puma while hunting unicorns in Minnesota. And if you believe that I have a bridge in New York to sell you. I screwed up part of the lining slipping in the bathroom and spent 6 months not seeing a doctor while walking with a cane.
1909925 The puma explanation is definitely slightly less boring than the bathroom slip. Elevators are good, unless they sit there and laugh at you silently while you crutch your crippled ass down the two flights of stairs to the lodge's lobby.
I actually kinda wish that my accident wasn't so bad that it kept me from going back to base until recently. And the way you put it with the science building sounds fun. If you're not me and had elevators judge you and laugh while you hobble uselessly downstairs to beat your younger brother senseless until he either tells you where he hid your wheelchair, or is knocked unconcious, especially after he tells you where it is and you keep beating him. Wow, after writing that made me sound like a dick, beating the shit out of my brother with a crutch.... aaand all sympathy for the borrows-money-but-never-pays-me-back bastard just threw itself in front of a bus, stripped off all its clothes, and shouted, "Hit me! I'm worth 200 points!!"

It was a nice long walk, add in that I had to take a test, I promised my prof come hell or high water I would hobble into her class for that damn test, then had sit in a car for a four hour drive home... which is really uncomfortable when you have to have your leg raised. At least I could ditch the crutches two days later
