A very popular t.v. show adapted from the series of books called "A Song of Ice and Fire".
It's about a realm called Westeros that is ruled by seven kingdoms. Ruling all seven kingdoms is the one who sits on the Iron Throne, who at the start of the series was Robert Baratheon; he gained control of the Throne by usurping and butchering the entire bloodline of one of the old kingdoms that held it at the time, the Targaryans. But now enemies are making their moves to claim the Throne for themselves; old alliances rekindle, others die, the nation plunges into chaos.
Meanwhile, across the sea where the Free Cities rule the last living members of the Targaryans hatch a plot to get themselves an army of warriors they can take across the sea and reclaim their birthright. And while all this is happening, far far up in the frozen north there is an ancient evil massing beyond the Wall, a massive structure that separates Westeros from such evils in the likes of walkers, giants and direwolves.
It's a great show, and it has an amazing opening sequence.
