    [Humility] Unlocking the Unfinished Experiment

Well, I wasn't able to keep my promise. I began work on Humility's updated version, made some nice headway on it, and then...just...so much happened. But I'm not going to echo the same excuses. Stuff happened, and Humility sat incomplete, and...I keep thinking about it and feeling like I left part of my best work unfinished. I suppose that's true.

    [Ikusa] Original Novel

Not sure if this'll reach many people but I figure it's worth a shot. Hi! I know that a long, loooooong time ago, I was sharing some details on my game project. It started here, but continued in different ways and for

    Fullmetal Pony Resources

Seems I can't do anything right the first time. Well, here's the in-progress collection to every single resource, note, draft, scrap, and plan I had for FMP. This is everything except the private messages between me and Twilight Is The BEST. And even now I'm still not done cleaning and formatting all of the documents in it.

Voice Acting: Highlight Reel for Karasutengu

I was recently cast in a fandub for Inverted Crown Productions, in the role of Karasutengu, the villain. I got permission from the project director to make a reel of my performance, and it took me all afternoon to get it hosted properly. So:

    A Couple'a Silly Prompts

I asked my buddies in a Discord server to give me some writing prompts because I wanted to create without rules. They came up with two, and they seemed to like 'em. So, I'm gonna share them here too.

A prompt about that humpback whale found in the rainforest.

    And...

Obligatory 100th Blog Post Update Spectacularmathon · 11:52pm Feb 27th, 2014

Because people hate duckface (myself included)

I just recently realized that my blog posts have been sitting at 99. We can't have that, can we? So to break away from all my not-writing and trying-to-write and the occasional will-write-but-not-about-what-I-want-to-write, here's an all-encompassing update in the shenanigans of Leoshi.

FIRST OFF:
What the buck is going on with Rain without Rainbows?

I'm happy to report that RwR chapter seventeen is no longer being revised, and is in fact only three scenes away from completion. However, the fact of the matter is that the entire chapter has swelled far larger than I originally anticipated (6000 words in planning, 12000 words and rising in practice), so these "three scenes" could actually take up more writing time one by one than the entire pilot chapter. I'm not lying, this is an unexpected challenge that I'm struggling to meet. But I am meeting it all the same - I put down about 1200 words this afternoon, pushing the scene-at-hand into its next phase. The content is coming! I just wasn't expecting so much ground to cover.

In related news, I'm also plugging away at the final chapter at the same time, in the hopes of keeping the tone similar between the two entries. I'm also taking a few minutes during each writing session to proofread and expand the Prestige Edition, which has helped ease me back into the RwR mindset.

SECONDLY:
You're releasing a new story? The Other Side?

Yeah...well, kind of. As I've stated in the story description itself, The Other Side was going to be my entry into the Rainbow Dash group competition last autumn. Obviously, I didn't make that deadline, but the plot I came up with was too intriguing to throw away. So instead, I've converted the project into my first attempt at the first-person point of view, with a focus on memory and emotion. I'm trying to expand my skillset pretty much, and it's proven wonderful so far.

That said, I do intend to continue the story. After all, it's great fun to write for Spitfire again. However, The Other Side is by no means my main project, so updates will probably not be announced until it becomes my main project. I'm still adding in content to the story, but not as much. Besides, moving from third-person omniscient to first-person hindsight is a big change, and I feel like I've got culture shock from it.

THIRD OF ALL:
What's with the various images you keep putting up lately?

What, like the one up there? And from Applejack's Salacious Barn Door? And the custom title images I've made for the short-lives review series? Well, that's me, experimenting with the Paint.NET software when I'm bored. The results are often amusing and sometimes depressing, and I aim to edit screencaps of the show and use those edits as future story covers. As much as I love fanart, it's sometimes not enough (and more often just too much) for what I want to convey. For example, editing a scene in The Ticket Master that will show Spike offering a golden ticket to Applejack while she looks down sweetly.

Oh, yeah, and AppleSpike has become my OTP. Sorry about that.

FOURTH ISSUE:
Any future reviews from you?

What, you liked those? I never got any responses from them! Well, unless people suddenly start paying attention to them and offer their own opinions, I'm not gonna waste valuable time and effort writing them out. Sure, I had fun while it lasted, but it was more trouble than it was worth.

FIFTHLY, IF THAT'S EVEN A WORD:
What can we expect from you down the road?

Well, finishing RwR is still my ultimate goal. I'm also working on my game project, Ikusa ~ Wartorn, but lately I'm just building on the database for equipment and animations. Still useful, but not as rewarding. However, I've recently gotten an idea for another story, and this one will have a horror spin on it. It's likely to be my first-ever story to be rated Mature, due to the detail I intend to use. No, it's not going to involve clop - I still have my morals, and won't delve into that territory. But pain and suffering is on the table, and I want to capitalize on that.

What's this horror tale about? Not telling. I've sent off a synopsis to one of my closest friends, and I'm hoping to get her opinion on it before long. If she likes it (and I use that word loosely, considering the idea), I'll make an effort to make it a reality. But until that happens, you people (if anyone is reading this at all, damn it) will not see hide nor hair of this horsey story.

SIXTH OF SIX:
Anything you want to say?

Plenty.

•Where the hell is SatoshiKyu? Is he dead? I miss that trouble-maker.
•Can anyone give their opinions on my two studies, located here and here? It took me some time to get each one out, and I've received next to nothing on them. (Thanks, Solidfire!) I need more than just one comment to make me feel accomplished.
•If you guys aren't fans of Thomas Bergersen, you should be. Here's why. He's also one-half of the group Two Steps from Hell, so there's that.
•A hundred blog posts is hardly a milestone, but I'm still not getting any major recognition for my work. I'll take what I can get.
•My left ear itches.
•...that's about it, actually.

So yeah. The many ramblings of a work in progress. If you're still here, carry on. If I've lost you along the way, I'm terribly sorry. And if you're new, don't expect miracles - just expect me to write and whine about it.

To another hundred entries!
