Man, that new episode! I had to make a small, excited, not-in-depth blog about it. I was grinning so widely during that first scene of the episode. I loved it! It's now my second favourite episode of the series (perhaps unfairly so, because while it was certainly a solid episode, I'd hardly claim it was functionally as fantastic as a few others. But I do have a heavy bias in favour of this episode, just for a certain part of the premise, and I readily acknowledge it. I mean, that bias should be obvious, considering what I write...)
If you haven't watched it, you probably should.
(See, no spoilers really... though I suppose there could be some in the comments if we start actually talking about the episode.)
Kind of a pointless post, but it's a small outlet for my excitement.

What Sweetie did was accualy one of the things I really wanted to see in this season and the fact that Twilight was involved in it just made it so much better. I was smiling like an idiot at the end of the episode.
Loved the episode as well -- that first scene was something I've been hoping to see for ages, and it finally happened! Although now I'm holding out for Scootaloo earning her unicycle cutie mark. Surely it's only a matter of time
I was mainly just happy to see DT & SS again.
I've gotta say CMC episodes seem to be getting to be better than most of the others at this point. We actually see a bunch of character development from all three of them, and even the DT/SS side of the coin is shown to be somewhat different from what we normally expect. For once, the two of them are shown to be more open to possible friendships with our favorite fillies, and they didn't even once deride the other fillies for being 'blank flanks'.
This latest episode will likely light up a lot of fanfic possibilities for people, and it'll be interesting to see how the fandom handles these new quirks. Sweetie Belle suddenly having a grip on magic to some degree is fascinating, too. What is left to be explained is why she was being dragged by a blue hued horn in the season premeire, rather than her canon jade. I'm pretty sure Rarity's horn wasn't glowing when we first saw the filly in the episode...
