When the Center Cannot Hold, aka The Goodbye That's Not Really a Goodbye · 4:41am Feb 16th, 2014
You know, I realized today that I've been on this site for a pretty long while. I've written lots of pony stories, made some amazing friends, tripped over my feet, and made some pretty damn stupid mistakes.
I also put about three seconds thought into how exactly what I was going to say what I needed to say, so it's gonna get a little bit rambly.
Firstly, this is not a goodbye. Well, not in the traditional sense. I'm still going to be writing horsewords, or at least trying to. But I've come to realize, through my turbulent time as an administrator of the TCB group, my failure at trying to be a leader/PR/anything in The Royal Guard, my efforts to claw my way to being a good writer, and all my RL efforts, so that I might feel like I actually made an impact in something, that I've overreached. And, like the first half of the title says, the center cannot hold when pulled in so many directions at once.
So, for a time, until I can sort out exactly what the hell I want to do with myself, my approach to being a brony author, and even my approach to life, you'll likely be seeing a lot less of me around. The updates and new stories will continue to come, but the people I've come to consider my online family on Skype and the various groups here will (or might not, who knows?) notice me signing on less often. I wanted to thank each and every one of the wonderful people who follow the words I try to put down on your screens, and really need to fire the editor who lives in my head, because that last bit got way too emo and over the top.
Anyway, I've always hated those blogposts that go one forever, so going to cut this one off at the knees. I wish all of you the best, and hope to see you around in the future
That's cruel! Now it can't walk! :p
But a pause for self-examination is always a good idea, as is trying not to be overextended before the falcon fails to hear the falconer.
Still, you've already left your mark on the site, and you have, in some small way, rewired the brains of thousands of people around the world though merely putting stories in front of their eyes. You can't possibly fail, overall. You've already succeeded.
Whatever you do and wherever you go, I wish you the best.
Sometimes you need to realize you need to pull back, consolidate, and concentrate on what's the most important for you. You only got so much time in the day, and so you have to spend it in the way that's best for you.
Ret'urcye mhi*, Fang. May you have a blessed life.
*Mandalorian - Goodbye ; Maybe we'll meet again.
Goddamn it...

Do what you need to do. Just make sure you do it, don't half do it.

Couldn't put it better.
See you when I see you. May your quest for focus be swift and rewarding.
