Man Cannot Keep It Going Forever

There comes a time in a story's life when it's time to stop and say "The End", and I think for Man Cannot Live On Coffee Alone, I'm there.

Spoilers ahead, obviously, for Man Cannot Live On Coffee Alone. And before you think it: no, I'm not quitting or leaving, lol

    30,000 words later...

    I did it!

It's done. The Festival of Friendship Arc for Man Cannot Live On Coffee Alone is done! I'm so happy to have it finally complete. It was a massive undertaking in the best and worst sort of way. It took me a bit of work to shake the rust off, and Chapter 9c might get a touch-up, but for now, with Chapter 9d complete and feeling back to full form, I'm happy to say that it's done.

Yeah, I KNOW what I said!

Title says it all. Yes, I still don't know if I'm going to finish this beast. This arc gives me headaches for many reasons. But... well, when the inspiration strikes, sometimes you just gotta run with it.

Yeah, I know what I said.

The author's note in the chapter says it all, but hell with it.

Update and Cleaning Up my Userpage!

Hey Fimfic, long time no see. Hope you all are well!

Rarity pic, in keeping with tradition!

I'm doing quite good. I'm a full-time teacher these days, and that eats up a lot of my time. Between that, editing work, a healthy long-distance relationship, and D&D, I'm quite busy.

There Goes My Anonymity! · 6:49am Feb 10th, 2014

Well, all pretense of anonymity is now shattered. My face and name are on Equestria Daily, talking in front of media, and about ponies no less!

Ah well.

Here's the Equestria Daily article.

And here's the video: LINK

I'm interviewed at 2:03 in the video, and my face is everywhere. I had NO idea the interview was going to be sent in to Equestria Daily, but whatever.

So, impressions? What's everybody think of the interview? I felt it was fair and neutural, even if it took a few chances to take digs at how "odd" it was at first.

I gotta say, though, compared to a lot of media coverage and interviews, it went really well. Tony, the reporter, was very nice and kept an open mind about everything. He definitely didn't expect myself and Carlos like we were: button down shirts and jackets, trying our best to act and appear professional. There were a bunch of cool bits of interview that didn't make it on there, but overall it did a decent job of presenting the fandom, I think. At least it wasn't negative.

For this to be the thing that plasters my mustachio'd mug all over the fandom, I guess it's about as good as it could possibly be. Sacramento Bronies, putting our best foot forward for the fandom!

CONSEQUENCES WILL NEVER BE THE SAME.

Pretty good segment, I must say.

It was pretty typical. Try to ease the viewers and 'normal' people into the concept of bronies with referencing that G1 MLP music and work into some g4 episodes, trying to poke fun before going into a more open look at it.

Still felt like they see it as strange and unnatural and that last semi-mocking tone at the end with the eight year old comment could of been left out, but the guys and you said all the proper normal things and didn't sound overly defensive of anything so that was good. Just good honest opinions about why some of us love FiM.

Nothing much to say about it at all really, overall it's just that: Neutral

(Celestia's Micro is best Micro. Unless you prefer funny, which totally Luna/Rarity.)

I was just picking it up that day when we did the interview, and I'm totally pleased that it was featured alongside me. I love Celestia, so it's cool to have that awesome comic and ESPECIALLY that cover go onto the news alongside me.

1818841 Yeah, that was a lot of great promotion on quality for the comics. Thank heavens no one showed off that Friends Forever issue. :pinkiesick:

I don't think an issue or episode has ever moved me like that issue did, and the artwork was amazing, not to mention how well, in my opinion, they portrayed Celestia. It was a really heartwarming and very Celestia worthy issue. Ending the Micro series with Celestia and Luna was certainly a smart move, each were very powerful in the field they tackled.

That seems like a great shop, Celestia and Luna's portrait covers are my favorites. Let's hope the FF series start to get more serious next time with the Discord issue. I never felt like I ever wasted money on an issue before with the comics, and I bought the Fluttershy micro too, but anyways, yeah... don't touch Friends Forever #1. Don't even borrow it from a friend. That issue will just upset you.

But whatever, Celestia is awesome and hope you pick up the Luna one too next chance you get if you don't already own it! Celestia may not be as she was in her own Micro, but I certainly adored seeing her placed in a more relaxed and comical setting than we would normally see her.

that was pretty cool

I'm a collector, so I bought Friends Forever #1 just to have the full set. I was equally disappointed as you were.

I think the interview was one of the better depictions of the fandom in mainstream media I've seen. They stayed relatively objective and neutral throughout the whole story and asked legitimate questions. You did a good job on the interview of discrediting the "neckbeard" perseption most people have of bronies. Thank you. :pinkiehappy:

I made sure to shave the neck stubble. :rainbowlaugh:

Tony seemed relatively neutral and open to the concept, though the anchors back at the CBS studio were still showing that stereotypic closed-off reaction. I would have liked more focus on the fan-produced art and the fan-produced music, because, great as all the show stuff is, I am far more interested in the community products than the actual show merchandising. Though I do intend on picking up the comics next time I get some disposable income. I have heard enough good things that I'm interested in them.

Most of my issue with the segment was in how they edited it together and where they focused the attention. The interview itself seemed fine. Of course, now people know your name and face! :raritydespair: Of course, maybe that's an opportunity. :raritywink: Not that I expect anyone is going to remember you from this who doesn't already know you elsewhere. The interview doesn't stand out as either good or bad, so it'll probably slip into the ether of non-thought as all such moderate things do. Only the exceptionally goo and bad really stick in our minds.

Nietzsche, I could pinch that.

Does this mean I can share In Like Finn in a blargh now?

Fuck it, why not? :rainbowlaugh:
