I've never seen Rarity so manic before! But onto the points:
Rarity doing small town chic: You know, I find it strange that the first thought that ran through my head when she said this was "didn't she already do something like this?" I just really felt that the whole thing she was trying to do had been done to hell and back already. I was honestly surprised that she didn't try to model the whole event based upon apples given the significance of Sweet Apple Acres to the town's founding, including the bit on Granny Smith, which they mention at the very beginning.
Spike: Poor Spike. I recall there being a blog post by the Descendant discussing this very issue. Spike is watching Rarity falling head-over-hooves for another pony and he doesn't even show the smallest iota of recognition for it. I know a lot of people, myself included, would like to see him have more of a personality than simply being a servant to everyone else.
Trenderhoof: Rarity falls in love with a hipster, or at the very least, a stallion who dresses like one. Which leads me to...
Love triangle: Is it really a love triangle? Really seems more like a love V to me. Rarity likes Trenderhoof, Trenderhoof like Applejack, Applejack doesn't give a crap.
Miscommunication: I do so dislike these, because this card was played for spades in anime, back when I used to be big into them. Rarity's own envy was spurred on despite the fact that Applejack admitted to her face that she didn't know why Trenderhoof was so enthralled by herself and her farm work, and yet Rarity was still convinced (badly) that Applejack was trying to snatch Trenderhoof away. You'd think she would have a little more faith in Applejack to, you know, not lie about this.
Country bumpkin Rarity: Absolutely hilarious.
Applejewel: That duckface. It's nice to see that the Applejack and Rarity's rivalry streak is still alive and well.
I liked this episode. There used to be a time where I only ever liked a few of the Mane Six, but they've all been growing on me in recent times. They all of their own quirks and shortcomings, and that's what I like best about them. I still like Applejack the most, though.
I like how Rarity went full retard when she did the country girl imitation to get Trenderhoof. She's got no experience with that kind of life, but AJ has had experience as a Manehattan socialite. Applejewel was great.
The episode had pacing issues though, and the conflict was only resolved in the last minute and a half, with the remaining time going to party she was supposed to plan and the credits. Also, it ended up being a Rarity episode, judging by how she was the one in conflict and AJ was just setting her straight. I guess AJ is the most emotionally mature of the Mane 6, which explains why she has so few episodes.
I also realized just before the episode, when Pinkie Pride was playing, that Cheese's gift to Pinkie was a limp cock.

The episode was fine, but I screamed from pure horror when I heard Rarity talk with the accent and dress the way she did. I think part of my fashion-sense died right there.... because of fucking MLP... GG

I was under the impression that it was supposed to be a Rarity episode from the beginning.
It's also the reason why she is statistically the least favorite of the six. I like her simply because she hasn't had a meltdown in similar proportions to all of her friends. Oh, and I like blondes, and her southern accent. I'm pretty sure that also helps.

I'm not big on blondes, but I like them more than I used to. As for Southern accents, I like 'em too. They're the only American accent I like besides the default "accentless" accent.
