Equestria at War Update - The Way of Fire (2.2)

Hey there everybody! I've emerged from the darkness to help spread the news about another project that I'm working on. As I've mentioned in the past, in addition to being a fimfic author, I'm also a senior writer on the Hearts of Iron 4 mod, Equestria at War (discord link here), which is a fun (and sometimes very time consuming) volunteer project to dedicate

Equestria at War: Shores of Zebrica

Hey hey people, been a while hasn't it? Yeah, it's ya boy with another one of those "drop off the face of the earth and then post a blog post out of the blue" moments. At least they only last a couple of months (usually) right?

Pinkie Pride · 10:06am Feb 2nd, 2014

So it's 5 AM here in good ol' Pittsburgh, and I figure that rather than sleeping, I should make a random blog post about today's (yesterday's) episode, Pinkie Pride. Because I can, that's why, and you all have to deal with me (you signed up for it!)

First off, it was my favorite episode of the season. By far. I felt like the pacing was great and the songs were pretty spectacular, but I think we all know the real reason why it was so amazing. Weird Al did an amazing job as Cheese Sandwich, and honestly I don't think they could have made a better character/voice actor combination to fill his role if they tried. If Weird Al can voice act that good, he should be in more things. Like future episodes of small horses. That'd be amazing.

I was happy that they let Al have plenty of song time, including letting him parody Smile to his classic polka style. When I heard that, I knew beyond a doubt that this was the best episode of the season. Just the biggest thing I got from it all was that nothing felt contrived (well, mostly, but more on that later) and everything was natural. They didn't restrict Weird Al in any way other than what was written for the plot, and it really shows. God bless that man.

My only complaints for the episode rest in how quickly everybody basically says "Fuck Pinkie and her party she's worked so hard to put together, let's go support Cheese Sandwich because of one song." None of the main characters really seemed bothered by the idea that they were basically ditching Pinkie in favor of some stranger who just got to town that minute, which I found very hard to believe. Other than that though, I didn't really find nothing else to complain about.

Anyway, those are my thoughts on the episode, and now I'll probably actually get to bed and get some sleep. In other news, Summer Lands chapter 2 is fully written and just needs to be thoroughly edited, so hopefully that'll be out on Monday. Also, anybody going to be watching the Superbowl? I probably will be. My prediction for the final score is Broncos 28, Seahawks 24 (Sorry, Loyal). Regardless, it should be a fun one.
Although nowhere near as great as Superbowl XLII. How's 18-1 taste, Pats fans?

So, yeah. Stuff. There's usually a thing that goes here, but I don't feel like it right now.

They never ditched Pinkie. She hid her feelings so the other Mane 5 did not realize she was hurt. They also thought Cheese and Pinkie would work together, even Cheese did! That's why they were so surprised when Pinkie called the Goof Off.

And yes, the Broncos will win.

Hurricane was just glad that Twister wasn’t there when the pegasus messenger returned – or, rather, was discovered. His wings and legs had been removed from his body with brute force, and the tattered white truce flag he had carried with him was stood erect amongst a pile of ravaged organs in his hollowed-out chest. Magnus’ personal seal adorned what was left of the Hurricane’s offer. The pegasus had not been able to eat for two days after seeing such an example of griffon brutality.

1790527 Dang it! I can never predict games right!

Well...GG Seahawks :twilightblush:
