For those who haven't seen the episode yet...
Well, it would seem the animators are at least making an attempt to make use of Twilight Sparkle's wings this episode.

Star Swirl the Bearded confirmed to be a white unicorn with a white mane and beard. We also learned that the bells on Star Swirl the Bearded's wizard hat are unique, in the sense that it's worth noting which bells are on display.
So then this happened.
When I saw him appear, I kept repeating to myself "Flash Sentry, Flash Sentry, Flash Sentry, Flash Sentry."
Many bronies are up in arms about Flash Sentry's inclusion this season. They're mad that Meghan McCarthy lied about Flash not appearing in Season Four. Some people would prefer to pretend that Equestria Girls was nothing but a bad dream and Flash's inclusion here shatters that illusion. I've mentioned before that I didn't think the movie was great, but I didn't hate it either. And I've got news for the haters. Equestria Girls isn't going away. There's a sequel in the works.
Instead of complaining and sending death threats, I suggest that we all sit back and embrace the madness.
Discord returned this episode in an uncharacteristically vulnerable state.
Applejack is skeptical of Discord's supposed illness. She has the best facial expression of the episode.
I love it how Discord is normally nude, yet when he turns his back on the ponies while wearing a revealing hospital gown, they shield their eyes as though he's indecently exposing himself to them.

I really liked the idea of Rarity and AJ as Discord's personal nurses.
I could easily see a clopfic where Discord gives both Rarity and Applejack an STD. There's even a cheerful song to go with it!

It was completely over-the-top and a lot of fun.
I enjoyed the clever lyrics; especially rhyming "you can brew it" with "crystal cruet."

I'm not sure how I feel about this. I want Friendship is Magic to feel timeless and devoid of pop culture references, but at the same time, this is Discord we're talking about. He's modeled after Q from Star Trek. John de Lancie played both characters and both are known for wearing outlandish costumes.
Then we come to the tentacle monster.
"You don't want me, Mr. Tentacle Monster," Cadance said, "I'm married. Twilight's virgin pussy is much tighter."

In the Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas picture reference, I love Cadance's expression of "Wait a second, is that... Jizz?" as she looks, horrified and slightly curious, at what Discord's holding.
Dash didn't abandon her friends; she fled Discord. Moreover, she was leading by example. It's not her fault no one chose to follow.
At least, that's how I interpreted it. And the nature and motives of fictional characters are the modern-day answer to the Talmud: everyone has a different interpretation, and they can all find support.

I hate the episode for adding more tentacle fuel as Cadence and Discord are now included to it. It was alright if it were JUST the mane six...
I usually find interesting when they use mythological creatures. They had been quite accurate with them so far. Manticores, cockatrices, and even Ahuizotl, which is obscure enough (until you're into Aztec folklore) to get away with something made up. The Tatzlwurm is also quite obscure for a mythical creature (mostly rumored to have lived in the Alpine mountains), though they took some artistic licenses with it.
Other than that, this is for now my favorite episode, and it's always good to see Discord back.
Also, I had to laugh when Cadance said that she was looking for some excitement. Part of me thought "Shining, we have to talk."
