Brony Sexism Essay Rebuttal · 3:28pm Jan 28th, 2014
I mentioned in a previous blog post how a quote of mine was used in an essay which attempted to document sexism within the brony fandom. I was mainly concerned with putting my quote in the proper context, but x19 has produced a full-fledged rebuttal to the essay. What prompted me to revisit this topic was a recent picture on derpibooru which had ties to the original essay.
The author of the essay would prefer to ignore the following photos, since they undermine his message of female fans of My Little Pony being isolated and excluded.
I don't know about you, but I see male and female fans coexisting in harmony.
When it comes to breakdowns of gender relations within the brony fandom, I'm inclined to stick with the analysis of John de Lancie and Tara Strong.

I hate it when misinformed opinions like that catch popularity. Then it snowballs and you have thousands of people taking up that misinformed opinion and holding to that stereotype like it is automatically true for every member of the fandom. I think all this boils down to is someone who's looking for attention and has already failed to grab it with their sexism rants elsewhere. Glad there are some people out there who are actually calling it out for what it is.

I have seen female and male fans hang out a lot....In fact I hang out with female fans all the time!!! I mean...I am part of an MLP Pony Play group....So, if anyone has a problem and thinks that female and male fans don't hang out or they get pushed away they are wrong....Oh so wrong!
So many female friends of mine are into the show... and they all have boyfriends.

Is there a button that can just wipe out both extremes of neo feminists and guys who treat girls like shit? Seriously, it's 2014 now and we still have these hidden agenda fuckers pretending to be for a cause when all they care about is oppressing a gender or hating on the other's viewpoints with stalwart blind hate unable to see any of the validity in each others' arguments because they are too busy drowning out the base problems with hate and ill intentions that serve only themselves.
I don't want either kind as I view both as bad as I view the KKK and nazis. I'm tired of knee-jerk feminists and the asshole knee-jerk response to knee-jerk feminists. All it does is make everyone not in those camps just hate anything to do with feminists because feminists = hate.
The human body needs sex. It needs to be pleasured in some way. Many seek partners to do this. Others find alternative ways to fulfill their base desires, but the simple fact is, sex is a part of nature, and no matter how you label yourselves you can't deny your body its needs and it is completely unhealthy.
There has been porn of everything since before the internet was ever imagined. I'm talking cave paintings here. It has never changed. To view the human body as disgusting and requiring cloths and condemning anyone of either gender for sating those base desires with another partner or through other forms, that is their natural born rights as human beings and no one should tell them how, when, and with who they should sate themselves with.
We live in such a fucked up world right now, so if people would set aside their greed and egos and look at the banks and corporations and marketing that force THEIR OPINIONS who do everything in their power to practically breed the perfect consumers through a form of attrition, then MAYBE we might actually make some damn progress in the world towards actual fucking equality.
And for the kiddies out there, yeah, I'm perfectly calm. I just like typing.

The funny thing is, in any other circumstance the guy would've had a point. Except the creator of the show is a woman, the show is generally intended for female viewers, and the vast majority of the show's characters are female. So he can go and CH-CH-CHECK HIS PRIVILGE!
