I Don't Always Read the Comics but, When I Do, They Feature Twilight and Spike

Dear Loyal Watchers, Interested Visitors, and Confused Passersby,

First, let me start off by saying how much I've appreciated the support and compassion of so many people during my long, long recovery. I'm most grateful, and it has been a bright spot for me as my long weeks of isolation here in my home have slowly gone by.

Summer Ends: The Finale of Gravity Falls

Dear Loyal Watchers, Interested Visitors, and Confused Passersby,

Every once in a while I get to stand an applaud as the credits roll to a television show. Futile, of course, as I'm the only one there to hear it, but I do it because it deserves to be applauded.

This evening was one of those nights.

    New Comic: "Away"

Dear Loyal Watchers, Interested Visitors, and Confused Passersby:

Stainless Key and I have just finished a new collaboration—which is to say that she finished making the vision that we shared come to pass. This time, it was Key's turn to come up with the concept... and boy, was it a Duesy!

Now Accepting Bids/Estimates · 12:16am Jan 28th, 2014

Dear Loyal Watchers, Interested Visitors, and Confused Passersby:

I find myself in the interesting position of having to ask for estimates from fandom artists who may be interested in bidding on completing a comic that I have wanted to produce for some seven months. Recent developments in the show have advanced my "canon chronometer," and I feel that the comic would need to be produced before the events which I predict the show is going present come to pass.

All of that means that any attempt on my part to improve my meager drawing abilities to the point where I can draw the comic myself would prove frightfully inadequate.

The comic itself was originally to be an "art exchange" between myself and a talented young artist. Unfortunately, her interest in Ponies has waned. In truth, I was making little progress with my share of the exchange.

Therefore, I offer this opportunity to artists who may be interested in continuing the comic where it has left off in its development, or to start anew.

The following conditions apply:

1.) The comic consists of 20 460x300 pixel panels and 2 920x300 pixel panels.

2.) It centers around two characters, both of which appear in most panels.

3.) I have developed the text, and it is viewable upon request.

4.) I am looking for the work to be colored and contain backgrounds. The artist can include the text if they choose, or I can do it with programs at my disposal.

5.) I am looking for bids/estimates to be submitted by artists who can honestly claim that they can complete the work in a certain timespan. That timespan should be included in the bid.

6.) I am looking for quality work. It is up to the artists themselves to decide if they can meet that definition.

7.) Payment will be by PayPal. Specific prices for the service are asked, not generalities.

8.) Confidentiality is assumed on behalf of both parties.

Please submit the bids at your earliest convenience via private message here on FIMFiction or on my DA site. If you are an artist who is looking at becoming more well-known, or if you know an artist who is struggling to find things to draw/ get commissions, then this might be a great opportunity.

I look forward to reading all pertinent replies.

Stay Awesome,
-T.D.

I can't draw worth a crap—my stick figures look like inbred mutants—but would we be able to donate just to help the project along? More Descy is always a good thing. :ajsmug:

I'm certainly not opposed to the idea, but I'd have no idea how to set it up. Ya know what, just pelt me with cash next time ya see me, Sergeant, that works for me.:twilightsheepish:

Lets see...

Jaesring, Ruirik, Conicer, Marik_Azmeus are all pretty good artists... But...

I don't know if they're taking work right now.

Thanks for the offer. Like myslf, learning how to draw the colorful pastel ponies isn't exactly easy, huh (though you'd have to lear how to draw a dragon, too).

Yeah, I tried asking about a dozen artists who all gave me various degrees of "Not now. No thanks. Do not want," so I decided to simply throw it out there to the public at large.

Well, I'm no profound artist, but I have been known to associate with some that successfully masquerade as them.

I might see if any of them would be at all interested.

1766472
Feel free to point them in my direction.

Did you post a request in Art for fanfiction? Knowing it was from you, people would jump all over that.

I'd love to take this on, but of course I've got no money and no drawing ability to speak of. Life is funny like that. Oh well, I still hope you find someone who's willing and has the aforementioned prerequisites to take on this job!

1766498
I have to admit that I haven't. Is it okay to post things there other than requests for story cover art?

1766506
I do too!

I ..... can sorta do it. I just realllly hate coloring. And have severe procrastination issues.
Appletank Art

I guess I could throw my hat into the artist mix, but my current position in the Marines may be a bit of a hindrance though, lots of work and little time for play... then there's the other projects I'm working on. I'm a pencil and paper kinda guy, but I could send you a link to my DA if you're interested... I'm not really that good, but I'm always willing to get better.
P.S. if you even so much as look at some of what I've got I'd feel honored.

1766583 I believe it is okay, I have seen others ask for avatar art etc.

1766583
As one of the moderators of the Art for Fanfiction group, it's really no problem! You can post there as long as it has anything to do with art in general. :raritywink:

If only I didn't have the drawing ability of a three year old right hander's left hand.

Thank you for the offers, Flan and Tank, but I think that I have an offer that meets my needs. I really appreciate you putting yourselves out there, and I'll remember such in the future.

1767334
Heh, I'm not much better.:twilightsheepish:

I would offer doing it but as I don't have much expirience with comics I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to do it justice. I have a few comic ideas of my own though and if you find yourself in a similar situation in the future I might be able to help.

I'll certainly keep you in mind, Sparx.
