    I must apologize

I started a story. A story about Tom and Spike.

And now it's two months later, and I haven't done a damn thing with it.

    .......yeah, I'm gonna fix that.

Teaser: Tom and Spike's Excellent Adventure

Listen well, for what I am about to tell you is a secret of the highest secrecy. Spike bravely flung himself down the dreaded passage, his head and heart filled with worry for all life, including the lives of the three demons who had caused this catastrophe in the first place.

I'm tired of not writing · 4:10am Jan 9th, 2014

I want to start writing again.

So I ask humbly: What advice do you have for a writer? I need a fresh start.

There's a challenge on the absolute write forums to write one short story a month and submit it somewhere. I'm trying for the 2 a month one (last month I did three, which was a new record for me), but the 1 a month is a really nice way to get back into things. You only need to write about 5k of polished story a month, and hey, if it gets accepted somewhere then you have a publication. And whoever accepted it might pay you. :-)

I can't say that i'm a great writer, and more often than not suffer from writers block. But if there's any advice I can give it's to look for inspiration. For example, if you're struggling to get MLP stuff done, maybe look into other fandoms you enjoy, see if any of those give you some ideas. Te stories don't have to be great, or even make sense, just the exercise in writing can carry over to others stories and 'get the ball rolling' so to speak. That's the best I can come up with anyway.

When I'm struggling for inspiration I usually just start writing anything and everything that comes to mind no matter how stupid or silly it is or even if it makes sense. Once I actually have something written down it becomes a lot easier to keep writing.

I wish I could tell you. I need to speed up my writing again.

Just write. Doesn't matter what, just write something. Anything, really.

Writing, or not writing, is often a habit. Just start writing a bit every day, couple hundred words at the same time each day on whatever, and let yourself keep going if you hit your quota and still feel like writing.
