New Audiobook by ThelifeonCloud9: All Nightmare Long

    Happy Nightmare Night, everypony!

As part of this year's Month of Macabre, ThelifeonCloud9 has released an audio production of my story All Nightmare Long. (Trivia time: Cloud9 got her start in fandom audio productions four years ago, with a bit part in Scribbler's production of another story of mind, Holder's Boulder.)

    Check it out below:

    Audiobook Directory

Over the years, several fandom YouTubers have created audio productions of stories from the Horse Voice bibliography. These are now very numerous, and so for the convenience of listeners, I have compiled them here.

Many thanks to those who liked my stories enough to create these great renditions.

    You Are Not Alone

This message is very, very late by the standards of the Internet. But my conscience won't let me rest until I say how I feel.

A week ago, news broke that former fan-author Jetfire2012 had taken leave of his sanity and picked a fight with an entire crowd... with predictable and well-deserved results.

Dear Ponies, Allow Me to Play You Out

Here in Canada, tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day. And so for myself and other Canadian bronies, the timing of Pony's finale, almost to the day, is quite fitting.

But really, who needs a red-letter day for thankfulness? This event may be bittersweet, but we can all be thankful for the good times, for the lessons that help us, for our creations, and for each other.

My Interview at BronyCon: Slightly Less Cringey Than I Expected

"Um, uh, uh, er, um, uh, y'know..."
    --Me

Surprise, everyone! One of my fans, Tyler Hinton, managed to find me at BronyCon 2019 and ask for an in-person interview. The result: About six minutes of me spilling my guts, interspersed with ten minutes of "um's." Luckily, Tyler edited the boring parts out, so my long, rambling answers don't drag on too much.

Emergency signal boost: Please Help Pounce · 4:24am Jan 4th, 2014

Fans of "Biblical Monsters" will surely know Scribbler. She made the audiobook of that story, and together with the cast of her radio drama "The Heroic Tale of Heroically Heroic Heroes," put together an in-depth review of it, which is a must-listen for any "Monsters" fan.

Pounce, the man behind one of those voices, is facing problems that I hope none of you ever have to. I'll let Scribbler explain:

I don't know how to go about saying this, but a good friend and fellow brony, Pounce, had a stroke a couple of days ago. He is only 26, but the stroke was a major one and the aftereffects have left him completely paralysed on the right side of his body. I met Pounce through the Heroic Tale of Heroically Heroic Heroes MLP radio play project, the first episode of which was posted on EQD back in November. All of us on the cast and crew are absolutely devastated by this, as we've all become very close. Bronydom has brought us together in a way I have never experienced in any fandom before, and I have been active in various fandoms for the last fifteen years. We're like family now, so this has hit us hard.

Pounce already been struck by an ambulance bill he can't afford, and from what I've heard about healthcare in America (I live in the UK), that's probably just the start of it. He is still in the ICU now and it may be weeks before he gets out. Even after that, he is facing months of physical therapy and the loss of his job over this. His financial situation was pretty dire even before this happened but his pride never allowed me (or anyone else) to help him before. MLP and the radio play were, as he put it, the only bright spots in his life and he wanted nothing more from us than that.

Today Pounce asked for help with his ambulance bill. It absolutely killed him to ask, which should tell you how desperate he is. The Heroic Tale cast have leaped into action, but I am also imploring anyone else who can to go to his website and make a donation, even if just a small one, to help with this.

I have made a video to explain a few more things about it here:

This is pretty sad to hear, as bills such as these can be very taxing, I hope that things goes well for our fellow man here. I'll give the link a look and see what I can do. Best of luck to Pounce

You'd think you americans would have altered your ratty healthcare service by now

Saw the video last night, slammed my head into a wall for not having paypal. But damn good job on your part HV for helping out man.

Yeah... this nation is so plot backwards when it comes to health care...

Instead of fixing the problem with a reform modeled on the rest of the sane world, Obummer instead decided to make an under powered website that lets people buy insurance policies from for profit companies... like they always could, but now those companies have to sell a policy (they can charge more for it than your old policy cost you though), and it's still a for profit system, and OH! if you don't buy, you get hit with a tax penalty... Yeah. THAT makes sense. :facehoof:

I HAD insurance for the first half of the year. I LOST my health insurance because of the new "Obamacouldcareless" system. Now I have to accept a tax penalty, or find a way to earn more, just to afford something I ALREADY HAD!!! :twilightangry2:

Then you get people like this, who have HORRIFYINGLY DEVASTATING medical problems, and what are you supposed to do about it? Huh! I will NEVER vote a democrat into office again. They are stupider than the republicans! :derpyderp2:

Goodness ...

Thank you so much, HV.

This is terrible. My heart goes out to him. Way too young for that smh. Will signal boost and donate.

We were supposed to have a humane health care system like 80 years ago but distrust of government and irrational fear of "communism" held us back. SMH.

Hmph. :unsuresweetie:

I made a vow to God to not bother arguing with low-information people online about Politics. A vow I am breaking now.

*unsheathes katana*

Excuse me sir,

Do you know much about politics and how different health care systems work? I'm guessing not. Because if you did you would know that while Single Payer is what we SHOULD have, (and eventually will) doing it in one fell swoop is so politically unfeasible its not even funny. It'd be a MUCH bigger drain on the budget, hundreds of thousands of people employed by insurers would no longer have jobs, etc. Have you forgotten that this "Obummer" plan barely made it past the Senate in the first place? Have you forgotten how many people FREAKED out like the End Times were nigh? Obama goes for Single Payer, Health Care Reform would've been DEAD by September 09 at the latest and we'd still be in a world where people with "Pre-Existing Conditions" get denied coverage. Period. #45 in the 48 Laws of Power. There's a reason fucking FDR didn't have the balls to push for this, man.

Nevermind that Single Payer ain't exactly free. Ask a Canadian some time. Yeah, you still gotta pay costs. It has its own set of problems. And its not like the UK. The UK is the one with a system where there's basically no private anything, the gov't owns all the hospitals, and you never have to pay........except of course through the 50% NATIONWIDE SALES TAX used to fund NHS. Would you be willing to pay 50% more on everything from soda to your shiny new PS4 for that sort of health care? HAHAHA. Of course not. You could throw in free blowjobs and the 'Murken public still wouldn't take that deal.

Fact is, The Affordable Care Act is the only major reform of our shitty health care system since Medicare. Since Medicare. 50 years. Every. Other. Attempt. DIED in Congress. That's why even on progressive blogs that were FIERCELY critical of Obama for not doing more, they are fighting TOOTH AND NAIL for the Affordable Care Act. They know its A GOOD FIRST STEP TOWARDS SINGLE PAYER.

Obamacare opens the door for states to set up their own state level Single Payer systems. You know that, right?

Right?

You heard that Vermont's gonna have theirs up and running in 3 years right? And that California's probably next right?

No, of course you didn't, because you'd rather sit on your arse and jerk off instead of learning something about the long hard unsatisfying slog that is governing. You'd rather have QUICK FIXES and EASY ANSWERS, and when that doesn't happen you check out and declare a pox on both sides. And then you act surprised when the Republicans sneak into power and oh wow they're super worse and burn the country down oh noes who could have forseen.

ACA is much more than a website and most of its provisions have already been implemented and are quite popular. Pre-existing conditions, anyone?

As soon as it became law, I was able to get back on my parents insurance because OBAMACARE raised the age you can stay on your parents insurance to 26. Thanks to that, I was able to get 2 major surgeries that would've otherwise ballooned into medical emergencies and crippled me financially. Now, thanks to that "under powered website" (which was fixed over a month ago btw) I have been able to afford my own private insurance plan for the first time in my life....an insurance plan which is MUCH better regulated than anything available pre-Obamacare. Yeah, a lot of the "cheap" plans before Obamacare were CRAP to the point of effectively not being health care insurance. Fuck that. Your tax penalty for not buying insurance is nothing compared to what you'll be stuck with if you need medical care and you DON'T have insurance in this country.

*sheathes katana*

Yeah, I'll just stop here before I start whipping out the charts and statistics. Sorry for getting superpolitical everypony, but he started it. :scootangel:

1688402 Thank you so much for writing this.

1688402 Yeah, even in my country it's not exactly free. We just pay a health care tax to cover the costs. It's more so we don't get a suprise cost

1685678

I've tried passing the plea around through my journals on other sites, though I'm not sure if too many people are noticing
