I've been using Shukumei for a while now and while I really do like it (it's the japanese word for fate or destiny) I have this epic ponysona with her own Ask blog on Tumblr and everything. So I'm thinking of changing my name to Ruby Prose and creating an image of her to use as my avatar. But I'm a little worried people won't recognize me or my work if I change it. So I'm putting it to a vote. What do you guys think? Should I change my username?
I'd vote yes but that's me.
I always prefer the same person having the same name across everything they do. I have enough trouble remembering everyone when people aren't running around with multiple names for me to keep straight.

Well sure people wont recognize you at first but once people notice they'll eventually start knowing you by your continued accomplishments under your new pro pic and name.
Personally though Im hesitant to change my own profile name and pic as I have my own ponysona who's a changling going by the name xerox. Genesis1212 is actually pretty standoutish name as well as the humanized AJ pic that I use, so yeah I know what you mean. xD

You are fated to be who you are, whoever that may be. To choose your own destiny, your own self, is as momentous a decision as it is an everyday aspect of life. Be who you will be, for it matters not what name you use, you will always be you.
1666326 I've been super big mac since I was right years old, more than a decade ago. I've never changed my name, but my interests and all have changed a lot over the years. I'm happy with my name.

It's a "pick one name, and use it for everything." Until you do, I will call you ShiShukProse.
I say do it. To me your current name just looks like another random Japanese word picked by a random generic anime fanboy/girl so I always have to check your story list to see who you actually are. Ruby would at least be distinctive and fit with the theme of the site.
Why not have two? Make a blog post on both accounts when you need to. But on this account, always start with a link to your new one until most followers are on your second account
