I too, wish to posess a pet Vampire Fruitbat.
I agree that it was random enough to be out of left field, HOWEVER I actually found it to be enjoyable. In fact I can say that I enjoyed it from start to finish more than a number of episodes this season (to me most of the season has been slightly boring). It was funny and was a full cast episode that really tried to get the full cast involved.
It also gets bonus points for having Pinkie getting multiple funny one liners in an episode without making her look dumb. Lately they have been hit and miss in that regard.
Fluttershy has fangs, vampire fluttershy is cannon, but with juice and not blood...
