I Don't Always Read the Comics but, When I Do, They Feature Twilight and Spike

Dear Loyal Watchers, Interested Visitors, and Confused Passersby,

First, let me start off by saying how much I've appreciated the support and compassion of so many people during my long, long recovery. I'm most grateful, and it has been a bright spot for me as my long weeks of isolation here in my home have slowly gone by.

Summer Ends: The Finale of Gravity Falls

Dear Loyal Watchers, Interested Visitors, and Confused Passersby,

Every once in a while I get to stand an applaud as the credits roll to a television show. Futile, of course, as I'm the only one there to hear it, but I do it because it deserves to be applauded.

This evening was one of those nights.

    New Comic: "Away"

Dear Loyal Watchers, Interested Visitors, and Confused Passersby:

Stainless Key and I have just finished a new collaboration—which is to say that she finished making the vision that we shared come to pass. This time, it was Key's turn to come up with the concept... and boy, was it a Duesy!

Merry Christmas · 12:26am Dec 23rd, 2013

Dear Loyal Watchers, Interested Visitors, and Confused Passersby:

On the first day of Christmas (which is either Christmas Day or Boxing Day, depending upon local custom, and the other twelve days are leading up to Epiphany on January 6th), Megan McCarthy gave an episode to me...

Kristyk

KarpetShark

Fluttershyfree

Geomancing

CPuff

Anne Hairball's cover for my story Our Gifts...

Psychoanalytic

... and that was all I needed for Christmas, because nothing hurt and everything was beautiful and happy forever.

Anywho, best of wishes from Ole' Crow-Face to you and yours for the Merriest of Little Christmases. The play that I wrote/produced/directed/co-starred in went over well today. I do believe that it got the most outright laughs of any Christmas play I've ever done. That's mostly because it involved six-year-olds poking me with sharp sticks, I think.

Alas! There is always so much to do on during these last two days, and I always do my best to sequester myself away on Christmas Eve, so I'm "out" until after J.C.'s B-Day. Catch you all on Boxing Day!

Stay Awesome,
-T.D.

Merry Yuletide, Merry Christmas, old friend! Peace be with you, among you, and present in your life till future dawns into eternity. May all be well with you, in health, and body, and life.

-Shane

Merry Christmas to you as well! :pinkiehappy: Personally, I got everything finished last week. :raritywink:

Of course you post Twilight and Spike, T.D. You're so predicable. :twilightblush:

I hope you have a fantastic Christmas, man.

And a happy new years to you, should I not see ya then.

~Skeeter The Lurker

Merry Christmas TD!

Merry Christmas Descendent, and everypony else!

Sorry I haven't spruced up my avatar; I only figured out how to change it this month.

Actually, whilst I'm here, have a Pippin Christmas too. Why mention only one hobbit?

That's mostly because it involved six-year-olds poking me with sharp sticks, I think.

Those are always the best sort of Christmas pageants. :raritywink: Merry Christmas!

I don't know you as well as everyone else, but Merry Christmas nonetheless.

1637241
I'd give ya a candy cane if I could.:raritywink:

1637243
Heh, well, I kinda needed one of those "paycheck" things to get mine shopping even started. 2013 was a hard year... :twilightblush:...

1637246
I'm a comfortable rock of SpiLight in a ever-shifting sea of Pony madness.

1637248
There's always next year.:raritywink:

1637253
I'm hoping that we do meet before then... I have a lot f complaining about 2013 to do before we're done!

1637249
I usually give out candy canes... kinda hard to give you one digitally.:pinkiehappy:

1637251
I get to write an original play each Christmas and Easter. The Christmas ones are usually more "fun".:twilightsheepish:

1637266
Glad tidings are for all, old friends and new alike.

And a very Merry Christmas to you and yours as well! I hope 'Der Belznickle' (a PA Dutch version of old Krampus) doesn't pay you a visit.

Spike Love is best gift. Merry Christmas, Descy!:ajsmug:

1637283

That's very true.

~Skeeter The Lurker

Christmas? Pictures of Twilight? Bah, humbug! Now Boxing Day on the other day, I can get behind that :yay:. Merry BOXING DAY, may you get lots of boxes :pinkiehappy:

1637283
In any case, Merry Christmas T.D.!

And from me too!

have a great saturnalia!

Ah, Spike for Christmas. Only did like dragons more than ponies.

I'm so seasonally excited!

But that phrase is boring, so, "Merry Hearth Warming Christmas Eve Honnica Sabbath etc. etc.!"

Ahhh, I must thank you Descendant, and may I wish you a merry Christmas alike, my dear author on FimFiction and friend. Joyous are the pictures you have bestowed upon us in this journal; they reawaken cherished memories of your fictions from yesteryear, albeit perhaps, it is a little too early to say that.

Make it safely through the holiday of love and friendship, my friend; I shall not have ear to any misfortune that would fall upon you! I would loathe to have your next piece of literature delayed for such a silly sake.

Till' you reply, Mr Descendant, I bit you a farewell on the journey to the end of the year. May fortune await you on the other side (and many Spilight fictions).

With treasured sincerity,

- Massy

At the end of the episode, one of my first thoughts was "Man, The Descendant is gonna like this one."

:moustache:

Glad to hear that your play turned out well and was received positively.

I hope you have a Merry Christmas as well my friend.

1637306
If he does, I'll post photos.

1637322
It is indeed.

1637330
It's quite an under-utilized holiday, IMHO.:twilightsheepish:

1637332
You too, Prae.:pinkiehappy:

eeeee, more TwiSpike cuteness! Never enough of this!

1637337
Thanks, Merc.

1637362
That too.:raritywink:

1637370
They are awesome... that is granted.

1637371
Semantics, am I right?:twilightsheepish:

1637385
You too, Massy.:pinkiehappy:

Merry Christmas, good sir!

1637386
I thought it was okay. I do have some petty issues, but they are, well... petty, and I'm not about to look the gift horse of a decent Spike episode in the mouth.

1637400
I am too! I'd hate to be booed off the stage by the parents of six-year-olds!

1637485
Never. Not in a millenia. Simply never enough.

1637514
You too, Zap.:pinkiehappy:

1637517

I enjoyed it. Top notch evil laughter. Rainbow Dash continues to be the Element of Cruel Honesty Loyalty, though, which I know annoys some. And of course, hair dryers are now cannon. :trollestia:

Well... I'm kind of a Scrooge (I'm not a people person as it is... well that and I don't like kids that much either.) but I will never ignore another persons tidings. So a merry Christmas to you as well, may it bring you joy and cheer as well as bring you closer to the ones you love. (Fourth year in a row without Christmas at home... but hey, Marines gotta do what Marines gotta do.)

ÂżWhat is Christmas? It is Hearthwarming

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

Merry Christmas T.D.!!

Merry Christmas Desc, and all the best for the holidays!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas! :moustache::twilightsmile:

Merry Christmas! I will be at work. Working and reading stories in my free time.:moustache::twilightsmile:

Merry Heartswarming Christmas, TD :)

Merry Christmas to you too! Christmas is always my favourite holiday of the year, and not just because my birthday falls on Boxing Day!

Merry Christmas!

Our pageant included somersaulting angels. Mostly my younger daughter:facehoof:

Merry Christmas to you and yours! Have a good time.

Thank you. Merry Christmas to you also.
Hope it's cheery and bright.

1637517 I similarly have some issues with the episode. It was a very mixed bag to me because it had such a cool setup of Spike knowing more than the Mane Six in an adventure and then killed it by having the mane cast act like idiots halfway through.

However, the moral was good and it was hilarious, so I'd give it a 6.5/10

And Merry Christmas! I have a little something in mind for this....

Merry Christmas T.D.

I always wondered where did those 12 days come from. :twilightblush:
"Merry Christmas," said the cat to the raven, its fangs reflecting what little moonlight the evening offered. A few moments later only the fangs remained, fading more slowly [slowlier? :derpyderp1:] into the nothingness than the rest of the feline body. :pinkiehappy:

1637553
I hope that the Christmas comes soon enough when you are able to celebrate at home, Flanagan.

1637572
Now we're talking secular differences.

1637604
I'm gonna need a good night... I'm beat! So much running around!

1637728
You too!:twilightsheepish:

1637734
Thanks, Wes!:pinkiehappy:

1637757
Thanks, Arc!

1637867
You too, Int.

1637876
Thanks, Bee!:twilightsheepish:

1637945
Not the worst way to pass a Christmas!:pinkiehappy:

1638139
Heh, either and both!

1638178
Aha! I wish you a happy birthday, then... both His and yours!

1638550
I take it that it wasn't a scripted part?:rainbowlaugh:

1638717
It will be small, quiet, but anticipated and enjoyed, I hope.:twilightblush:

1638949
I hope you experience the same.:pinkiehappy:

1639040
I sighed a little when the typical Spike conceits were played in: He lost one of his abilities (working and being helpful), he was not showed as an equal with the Mane Six (no special powers), and he wasn't actually allowed to save the day (they were never in real danger, as the comic probably isn't allowed to kill the reader), and in the end he was still "wrong" (not knowing that the comic was enchanted).

And, of course, no Twilight telling him that he matters to her more than just as an employee.

Still, the episode had a lot going for it, and I'm not going to complain... why jinx even some good development for the whelp?

Thanks for your wishes.

1639054
Thanks, I appreciate it!

1639495
And now you know! I always try to be useful!:twilightsheepish:

1643411 I would have liked it better if it had been Maneiac's competence and the Mane Cast's inexperience with the genre that put them in danger, and Spike saved them legitimately. I also found it OOC for Twilight not to have a job for Spike, though it was nice that it wasn't that they found him useless like in Spike At Your Service and more that they just didn't need his labor skills for something they did such good collaborative work for. And yeah, it would have been nice to see Twilight finally, finally say that she loves him, as well as to see Spike saving the day without causing the problem (like he did in Spike At Your Service or Secret Of My Excess).

That said, it was still pretty solid. It was just sad seeing it have such grievous flaws.
