Well, since this is the longest Greenfire has sat un-updated since I started, I think I should at least toss a quick heads-up here and let you all know what's going on with me. Plus this will be a nice first test of the newly reborn blog-tagging system.
It's simple enough, really. Life has just been extremely stressful lately. Not to go into too much detail, but my girlfriend's been sick on and off a lot, and bills have been coming in faster than we could handle them. I'm grateful to have a job at all in this economy, but the job I do have is low-paying and draining. A lot of nights I don't have the wherewithal to write anything by the time I get home.
Things are starting to look up, though. A couple kind Christmas gifts from family members have made the money problem a bit less of a problem. And in the past few days I've actually been working on a little Sparity one-shot, inspired by this recent drawing by Carnifex. Yeah, I know, it's not Greenfire, but at least it's proof my creative drive isn't completely dead. (I might see if I can enter it in that contest the Sparity group is having... but that would require finishing by the first, and who knows if that will happen.)
And more Greenfire will come, eventually. Inspiration has deserted me on this next chapter (I thought it would be easy—talk about tempting fate), but I'll get there. And with chapter 9, things will start getting really interesting. Questions readers have had since the beginning will start to find answers... and entirely new questions will start to be raised. It may take me a long time, but I promise I'll see this story through to the end.
In other news, I've just updated Gone in 1800 Seconds with the two most recent TMP fills I've written, and gotten the author's notes all filled in too. So there's something new to read on my account, even if it isn't what I know most of you are here for. Still, if you're desperate for more Spark-fic (not that I'm arrogant enough to assume anyone is), and you haven't read it already, it might just be worth a glance.
Wow, I was just thinking about this story, too! What're the odds? XD
Take your time, man. RL comes first, we all understand. Don't rush it whenever you DO have the time to write, though, okay? We'd all rather wait longer for good, quality chapters than rushed, shoddy ones. X3
Have a Merry Christmas! (And tell your girlfriend all of us wish her good health and a Merry Christmas as well, kay?)
you have no idea how happy i am of knowing you're continuing GF!! I've been reading the story until what you've posted at least 3 times each chapter, so it'd be really THE.WORST.POSSIBLE.THING not to get moar! specially after what happened in the last update
but i'm quite excited about your new story, too, so... I'm just eager to read whatever you have for us!
good luck in real life, bro, I know what it's like when it gets into your hobbies and you can't... create.
You are writing for free for other people. Don't worry too much about it.
I know exactly what you mean when life is draining your creativity. I used to write all the time and then I had to work for three solid years. It's hard to stick with and I am glad you are at least doing a little piece.
I wish you luck! Merry Christmas
Hope your personal stuff gets sorted out soon and your girlfriend gets well. Merry Christmas and all that jazz
Hope your life gets sorted out soon.
