Stars, and the Crafting thereof · 6:59pm Dec 16th, 2013

Firstly: my brother is making as good a recovery as I could hope for. He's still stuck in the hospital until his physiotherapy is done and there's no telling how long that will be, but life is slowly regaining the thinnest veneer of normalcy. I go back to work tomorrow... rent and food and all that. Again, a big thanks to all you well wishers out there.

Secondly: New story up! It's been sitting around for many months, waiting for a good round of editing. If I'm going to maintain the pretense of getting back into writing, I can at least finish the projects I've already started. It's not only my first outright comedy piece but my first crossover as well. That's two more tags under my belt.

Please check out My Little Starcraft: Friendly Fire is Magic. Note that you don't have to be a huge Starcraft buff to enjoy it: I tried to make it accessible to everybody. Chapters will be posted every other day. Please feel free to leave comments about absolutely anything, and remember to like if you like!

But what about Twilight? :raritydespair:

And the Crytoss are badass, I hope they don't turn into the 'comedic butt-monkeys who lose utterly despite having vastly superior everything' guys.

You know, I'll give it a look. I don't consider SC to be a huge plot-driven game, but given your track record, I suppose it won't hurt. :B

In this case, it's not that the Crytoss have advanced tech. It's just that the Dirt Ponies have really awful tech. I mean, seriously... their guns shoot bullets made of solid matter. Seriously! Who still does that?

Back in the day, I did very little player-vs-player. I mostly stuck to the single-player campaign and messed around with the map editor, so that's the experience I drew upon. The story of Starcraft really isn't the strong point... in fact, the cinematics for SC1 were made before the story was even written: they were designed to be vague enough that they could fit almost any plot. Really, Blizzard? Really?

The thing most people don't realize about crossovers is that they're still a ton of work to make: being a fan of something doesn't necessarily make you a good writer. Being a good writer makes you a good writer. So if you like the feel of my other stories, you'll probably like this one too. Though this is the first silly comedy I've posted... I've no idea if my sense of humor will go over well.
