1515557 Yellow Light of Death. The PS3 version of the 360's Red Light of Death. It's very complicated to fix, and pretty much every solution only makes it work for a short time (like a few weeks or months at best). I'm going to see if my local third-party repair company can do something about it, but I'll most likely need to buy a completely new PS3 in the future.
Most people would argue that I wouldn't need a PS3 soon enough anyway, since the PS4 is out, but I have over 60 games on this thing, and the PS4 isn't backwards compatible. At the very least, I want to get it working just long enough for me to salvage my save files.
1515656 Now I'm nervous about my own PS3, I've only had it for nearly a year now
1515956 Mine worked for over 5 years (bought it in 2008 just so I could play Metal Gear Solid 4), so I don't think you have to worry quite yet.
