Writing Filling the Gap · 8:52pm Nov 13th, 2013
Out of all my followers, many of which come to my page for diverse reasons, none of you have been waiting for longer than those who are following me for my oldest unfinished story, Filling the Gap. Started as early as may of last year, both the plan for its plotline and the interpretation of the characters intentions therein have changed and been redrawn a number of times. This has resulted in abnormally long waiting periods in between the eleven chapters which have been written to date, spanning as long as five months between postings.
The delays in between updates have occurred for numerable reasons both justified and unjustified; however, it now appears that I am finally on the track to finishing the short novel. A few days ago, I started planning for these final chapters, having needed to redraw the plans yet again for the best ending with the most action, the most romance, and the most substantial value so that all of my readers both casual and serious will enjoy this work to the fullest extent possible.
Rest assured the story's last chapters will be most entertaining and valuable, and they will come before long, seeing as they are currently my top priority with regards to writing. While you wait, have some of the best pony peacefully working at her own craft, courtesy of Killryde.
I'm not usually one for Vinyl/Octavia, or any background characters for that matter. I suppose it really depends on the writer and the story itself (obviously) but I honestly haven't come across a background pony fic I've really liked. For a while, at least. Plus, a lot of fics that ship them play up the "opposites attract" thing way too much. That being said, Filling the Gap looks like it might be pretty good. I'll try to read it later. I've been putting more stories into my read laters these days than I've been actually reading. I'll probably definitely read it soonish. Maybe. Probably.

Well if you haven't read it, know that it's based a lot more on these two characters getting to know each other through events rather than through dialogue or direct interpersonal interaction. It keeps you interested though, and when the romance part does come in I think it's certainly warranted and preempted.
