So... What's next?

My gosh, I need to do more of these blog posts! It's been forever since the last one.

Anyway, ten days ago "All But Two" was featured on Equestria Daily, effectively putting an end to the editing phase for that story. I'm as satisfied as I'll ever be with it! This leaves the question: what's next?

Well, currently I'm working on a song collaboration and having a rough time working out lyrics, so until that's all behind me I probably won't be working on my next story... I'm kind of on a deadline with it.

Speaking of my next story, what will it be? My answer for that is that I don't know yet. I have so many ideas in my head, and they're all fighting for attention. Right now I'm thinking my next story will be "Never Stop Smiling", based on an image I saw around a year ago. This story is something I've written and rewritten several times since I first saw that picture and I just never was happy with it. Well, I've decided to approach it completely differently.

I asked permission to write a story based on the image as soon as I saw it, but was beaten to the punch when someone else released a story based on it, too. I thought for a long time that I would just not write the story, but after telling a friend my idea and having him read the other story, he told me they were completely different. Well, with this new approach, I feel my story is probably going to be even farther from what the other story is, and, when it all comes down to it, I did get permission to write a story based on that image, so why let that other story stop me?
