The End of an Era · 4:04am Oct 12th, 2013
Today, RBDash posted the final Pony Fiction Vault interview: his own.
It's the end of an era. I remember seeing the announcement on Equestria Daily back in 2011, when the Vault had only a few entries. I remember coming up with all the jokes I would use to answer the interview questions, if I ever got in. I remember thinking I never actually would get in, because judging by those early selections, this guy wouldn't want to hear what I had to say. I remember eating my hat in the late summer of 2012, when a message from him arrived out of the blue. I remember immediately going out and making myself sick on sweets (I never drink, so that's how I celebrate things like this). I remember what a pleasant surprise it was to find he and I actually got along quite well.
And now it's switching to archive-only. It makes me miss the "old days" of 2011, when everything was fresh and new. Even if it was only a couple of years ago, the old saying is true: You can't go back.
Luckily, the free market abhors a vacuum. The Royal Canterlot Library's five-man staff have stepped up to the plate, and what little we've seen from them so far looks promising. And hey, if there's a story you think should have gotten into the Vault but didn't, why not recommend it to them?
So that's that. For me, there's only one thing left to say. RBD, if you're reading this, best of luck with your education, writing, and life in general. Be well.
Cheers,
H.V.
PS. Hey, I just realized I'm the only one to get a Daring Do story into the Vault. Go me!
Ehehe.
(This was actually one of the reasons I was so keen to include The Writing on the Wall.)
Thank you.

I'll be very sad to see it go man.
I too feel lucky to have gotten into the Vault before it closed.
1413690, thanks for all your hard work.

It's been my pleasure.

I appreciate it. I'm sort of sad myself.

It was one of the reasons I checked on the vault so often actually, I loved all your interviews. Even if I couldn't squeak a story in there myself, it was brilliant to see you connecting to those authors

You should follow Amacita if you don't already -- EqD prereader who does really in-depth interviews with authors he approves. And you've seen the Royal Canterlot Library, yes? The dream lives on!

It'll never be the same as you
