I am never gonna split a chapter into two haves again, no matter how long or unwieldy I think it's getting. It's just waaaaay too much trouble trying to get the second half to stand up on its own!
That being said, with any amount of luck, I should (finally) have the next chapter of Boast Backers up sometime in the next day or so! Sorry for the delay folks.
Im glad to hear it, i sorta thought that boast backers might have gone to the wayside in part.

Far from it, sometimes poor planning and writer's block just blindside me hard lol.
I think I know what you're talking about, but from a different angle. As we speak, I'm working on a chapter that I'd intended to use to kick off the action my story had been building up to, with a bit of setup to show the characters involved preparing before letting all heck break loose. But the setup started taking on a life of its own, to the point where I was tempted to try breaking it up into two, but I already left the last chapter on a cliffhanger where the action was just about to start, so I don't want to drag it out with another chapter of setup before giving the readers the payoff.
I'd say the lesson is to make sure that the second half of a chapter can stand up on its own before splitting, with the corollary being that if both halves can work as standalone chapters, you usually should split them.

A good point. Thank you :)
