    Getting back up

Okay, I know I've been gone a long time and many of you probably don't think this fic will ever be finished, but I'm here to tell you that I am working on the next chapter. I've realized that just because I can't seem to build up the momentum to write it as quickly as I wrote my other fics doesn't mean I can't just work on it little by little. Every day I add another few paragraphs (if it's an

    How does this sound?

Because this fic is running on 2 different story lines for now, I was thinking maybe it would be best for me to just go ahead and finish the rest of the mane six chapters and publish them without waiting for the CMC chapters. The stories do not converge until near the end, and technically I would be able to write the conclusion without spoiling any of the CMC's remaining captures. So, I figured

    Hiring second co-author

After speaking with JXWheeler , we've decided it would be best for the project if we get a second co-author. The newest chapter has been delayed due to a series of events in JXWheeler's life, and the fact that it's not my turn has made me feel more inclined to slack off on preparing my own next chapter (although now that I'm coming into Summer vacation, I may end up being more inclined to work on

New plan: Long wait but BIG payoff

As I mentioned before, I do my best writing in the Spring, but the Spring quarter doesn't start for about 6 weeks, so I've come up with a way to set it up so I'll be able to easily cover all of my chapters in no time flat by doing what I do best: Outlining. Often, when planning for an essay in school, I'll make the outline so detailed that it becomes longer than the final product, because

    Shouldn't be much longer

About a month ago, I realized that there's a pattern with my writing: it seems to peak in the Spring. I can't explain why, but for the last 2 school years in a row I could barely think about writing fics during the Fall and Winter quarters, but as soon as the Spring quarter started my desire to write greatly intensified and I ended up being able to write far more rapidly and enthusiastically than

Flame alert · 9:56pm Sep 28th, 2013

This user has been shamelessly flaming me and calling me VERY rude names for quite a while, even though at this point I'm trying to end the flame war.

Here's how it started:
In a fic he wrote, he included something that I did not like in the plot. It wasn't something absolutely crucial to the plot, and I politely suggested a way that it could be slightly changed which would have been a slight change but would have gotten rid of the whole part that had offended me. Yes, the feud began because of my actions, but here's where he took the responsibility and began the flaming. When I was simply trying to negotiate with him that my way would have been a good alternative, he constantly responded to my comments with messages that were less counterarguments and more insults, one of which really tore me to pieces. Because he was so convinced that I was the one flaming me, he blocked me after sending this message:

"And you didn't happen to fire off a stray neuron in the direction of "maybe the author has planned ahead and written parts of future chapters already"? Or did you perhaps completely miss the memo I posted about "pokéballs don't exactly come with mind control built in"? Did you all up and imagine a "Sex" tag for this story, too?
So in the end it all boils down to you massively misunderstanding the meta, not reading notes or even the entire chapters properly, and being a sexually frustrated average dude with too much idle brains.
And in case you didn't get it the last two times, let me spell it out for you:
I DO NOT RANDOMLY CHANGE THE CONTENT OF MY STORY BECAUSE YOU ASK ME TO.
When I change something, it's because the idea I had gets replaced by a better one. Yours barely qualify to be called ideas in the first place, and to begin with they're just watered down versions of the current plot, frantically scribbled up just to have something to replace the HORROR, OH THE HORROR, RAINBOW DASH IS REGISTERED AND CONTAINED WITHIN A STORAGE DEVICE, WE WILL SURELY ALL DIE of now. That doesn't cut it, end of story.
Actually, no. Not end of story, because I have plenty of that to write, still.
End of your random, obnoxious, annoying, rude, pestering bloody blogging, though?
Definitely.
Don't bother calling again, bloody halflander."

After that, I gave a sincere apology in a journal entry and he unblocked me. Earlier today, I saw a chapter where he was talking about a stone heart in the Crystal Empire, so I asked why he called it the Heart of Stone instead of the Crystal Heart. He flipped! He went on an angry rant against me because of the misunderstanding (turns out it wasn't the same heart, and I was supposed to know this even though only one heart has ever been seen in the Crystal Empire). When I asked why he was trying to turn this into a flame war, here's what he said:

"Because I'm an author driven to the point of rage by a little man-child who can't see the difference between rational and illogical.
Because I'm a normally functioning, normally assembled, normally witted human being, and not one LACKING IN PARTS.
And because after all this shit you've pulled, the fact that you're still trying to one-up me with your petty attempts at reasoning is so absurd that it's not even fun to point and laugh at anymore.
You've gone from a reader to a hater to a whiner to begging for me to unblock you after I finally got sick of your shit and blocked you the FIRST time, which apparently was the only way to make you realize what you'd actually managed to do. And now that you're happily strutting around again and waving your tongue at what you please, you see fit to keep going right where you left off, and to boot you're also trying to sound like a smartass this time around. Even worse, a smartass politician.
Which I may add you're not succeeding very well in (thankfully politicians these days are at least, all other things aside, equipped with fully functioning mental faculties).
So excuse me for not having much in the way of patience with you when you come back and start waving your sack of crap in front of my eyes. You're just an eyesore now, and I'm not having you.
Hello, goodbye, you're not welcome back. Freak."

and this one:
"And don't even bother sending your pesky minions at me this time. Just a reminder. In case you forget or didn't get the subtle hint I threw at you before I realized subtlety goes so far off your radar it might as well have been a stealth chicken."

In the second one, what he's referring to is the fact that the first time he blocked me and I posted the apology journal entry, a bunch of people who saw it came and told him about it.

Wow... Report him. You have an incredulous amount of evidence to get him banned. I don't want someone like that on this site, and I'm pretty sure no one else would.

1381519

Not even proper grammar. Seriously, I didn't want to do this but you've driven me too far. I was never trying to be mean to you until you did all this flaming.

1381523

Don't worry, I did. In fact the text from this blog entry was copied and pasted from my report.

1381553

As I tried to explain to him, there's a difference between criticism and ridicule.

It sounds like he can't tell the difference between advice/suggestion and insult.

1381519

I have not. After our first fight, I left you alone for about 4 months before I said anything to you, and then all I did end up saying was asking a question, which you were happy to answer in a perfectly civilized way, which made me believe you had also gotten over our first argument. You've let your anger about our first argument cloud your vision so you can't even see that I haven't done ANYTHING since then. All I did was make a comment about something in your fic that I thought was scary (and as I said, if you review the comment, at no point did I say you should change it; I just said it was pretty dark) and ask why you had changed the canon name of something; how is that "harassing you for months?"

1381593
Block me, remove my comments, try to take away my attempts at countering your sad little argument.

You will not have me.
Ate a duck.

Yes, we were at an understanding: Namely, you would not bother me again and I would unblock you and refrain from reporting you to the admins for spamming my stories with shit.

Since you now broke that promise, my end of the deal is null as well. I put my trust in the moderators to deal with your case, and you can enjoy your block for the rest of your time. You can clearly not be trusted with anything.

While I agree he's going over the top, and needs to cut it out with the PMs, I remember that initial argument and I have to disagree with this -

It wasn't something absolutely crucial to the plot, and I politely suggested a way that it could be slightly changed which would have been a slight change but would have gotten rid of the whole part that had offended me.

If I remember that initial spat correctly, it was you being upset about Dash being caught, how he was making it harder for her than other characters, and making a stink about him playing 'favorites'. He gave multiple, full, very polite counter arguments about why he was doing such things in the story, but you kept complaining about it. And it wasn't a non-crucial plot element, as it ties in to the rest of the story that he said has already been lined out.

I'm not surprised his opinion of you is soured after that. I know I was thinking at the time he should have just blocked you, as that's what I would have done myself.

Mate, cool it, or you're going to end up with a ban of some sort.

I know I was out of line in the first incident, and I even acknowledged that fact in a message I sent to his DA account (check his DA account; there's a link to it on his blog; it's the second-last comment). I also said so in my blog entry where I had apologized back then, which was copied and pasted almost 100% from that same message. See, he had unblocked me after that, so I thought we were at an understanding; I thought we had put all of that behind us, I knew I had been out of line by pressing the issue for too long and I THOUGHT he knew he had been in the wrong by insulting me so much.

1381610 I fear you may be blowing this a bit out of proportion and should perhaps consider calming down a bit and asking yourself if all this is truly warranted and really necessary.

I did not break my promise. I promised not to ask you to change the Rainbow Dash thing anymore, and I haven't. Besides, in what way was I "flaming" you or "spamming you with shit?" All I did was make a comment about something I found disturbing in the story, which is a perfectly reasonable thing for a commentator to do, and then ask a legitimate question based on a misunderstanding . You're letting your anger at our first argument get in the way of your ability to reason; you can't see that what I was doing was not aggressive, it was exactly what a commentator is supposed to do- commenting on my take on the story and asking questions when I don't understand something. It's criticism, not ridicule. I'm sorry if you took the wrong message from it, but I can assure you it was not done with malicious intent.
