I usually stick to common themes in my stories. I like to have all the characters have a good reason for their goals. I shoot down any concept of fate. Also, there are always dragons.

I should post more of my artwork here.

Hey, y'all. Chapter 54 of The Elder Scrolls: Equestria is making slow yet steady progress. I feel I should restore my presence on this website with some regular art posts, especially since I'm making a return to pony artwork.

Chapter 45 completed. That was thrilling.

Can't believe I burned through 2,000 words in two hours. Haven't done that since I started the story back in high school.

I encourage you to read chapter 45 of The Elder Scrolls: Equestria, and see what has become of Caro and Tohro after a grave encounter in the catacombs.

The Backup Plan (Or: What if I can't finish The Elder Scrolls: Equestria?)

    No, I'm not dying.

I accepted my mortality the day my dad died of a sudden heart attack that he didn't deserve. That was also the day I stopped believing in God. I came to understand that we're all going to leave this world with just as many unfulfilled wishes as fulfilled ones. It's not really something that grates on my mind, it's just a little thing that I've come to understand.

A new piece of art, from me

I made this to celebrate yesterday's absolutely amazing episode. It was the only way to make my happy tears stop. I'm not dramatic, what are you talkin' about?

It's been almost a year... · 5:42am Sep 26th, 2013

...since I uploaded the first chapter of The Elder Scrolls: Equestria. So, I figured that I'd explain my whole thought process behind exactly why I made the fic and what I hope to do with it in the future.

Tohro, you're blocking out Tangerine. Step aside.

In the beginning, it was a late Summer afternoon. I was watching this guy playing Skyrim. And I thought out loud, "Why hasn't someone made a decent Elder Scrolls/Ponies crossover?" And he concurred. After all, if Kkat had the fucked up mind to merge Fallout and MLP, I figured, being a fan of fantasy, I should give merging the other famous Bethesda series together.
So we began sketching ideas. The initial team was Caro, Tohro, Shae and Tangerine.

There's always going to be oddities in early stages.

In truth, I hadn't planned on Caro being the Dragonborn at the early stages. In fact, one idea Mac and I had was that the identity of the Dragonborn would be a mystery. But that was quickly dropped as we couldn't work it in. We just rolled the dice on who would be who and galloped with it. Caro would be the Dragonborn, Tohro would be a handsome charmer (Yeah, that face shows it), Shae would be Twilight in another era, and Tangerine would be the lawful character. While that mostly reigned true throughout the initial chapters, we realized that, after the guild Dragonrein was formed in Chapter XII, Tangerine wouldn't have any reason to roll with Caro. We kept her out of the picture until we came up with Wolf River and their romance.

Wolf River's beast blood keeps him from getting a Well Rested Bonus, by the way.

The character of Rosemary was added in for a down-to-earth, idealistic, good girl who would bring a bit of happiness to Dragonrein. However, as it is difficult for me to write for more than groups of three, I like coming up with excuses for her to not be there when she's not needed. That way I don't have to force in any dialogue that belongs to Caro, Tohro and Shae. Wish I had a decent picture of her...

While the story was initially told in third person only, I was eventually convinced to try switching between third and first person to allow the reader to get into the characters' heads. To this day, I agree that this was a good decision. Switching between omniscient third person and thought driven first person perspectives allows me to tell the story from all angles. Trust me, there are a lot of angles.

Not at all a dead ringer for anypony.

Now, to be a little more frank...
I hadn't yet read Fallout: Equestria when I started The Elder Scrolls: Equestria. I thought reading it would at least inspire me. And I had been looking for an excuse to read it for some time.

Heh.

I read it all in one week. This was me during the experience:

So, yeah, that happened. I was out of class for almost the whole week, I broke down crying regularly, had flashbacks, dropped fifteen pounds because I lost my appetite (You know the chapter), and all that lasted me half a year. I was actually diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Thanks, Kkat! That's a bunch. How do you sleep at night?
Well, still, I got what I wanted. It certainly showed me a thing or two about good fan fiction.

You made David Tennant cry. Are you happy now?

Anyway, Chapter XXIX of The Elder Scrolls: Equestria is making progress. I've learned to take it slow and steady, and I'll feel better about my work in the long run. So I'll follow through on that.

Here's to another year of this epic fic, dudes!

Second and fourth picture are broken it seems. To me at least.

1377275 Argh, that source never works... There, I fixed it.

1377451 well at least it works now

Huh. Dunno, Fallout: Equestria never had such a negative effect on me. On the contrary, while rather boring at times (you can basically tell where are which chapters from...), it actually helped me through an unpleasant spot in my life. Something to keep my attention, you know. Except completely effing retarded protagonist, it was... bearable. Makes a good moral. The Elements separated, and were wiped out, taking most of the planet with them. Good job girls. Same for Royal Pony sisters really. Too much pointless nerd tragic angst to be even somewhat enjoyable. They lived long enough to enjoy and embrace nuclear apocalypse and, after a time, rebuilding the world, if for whatever reason they couldn't prevent it. Not just die for no reason whatsoever. It's fun in it's novelty, at the very least.

Tia, when was the last time you enjoyed the taste of fresh blood on your blade? When was the last time you slept on grass instead of your 'queen-sized' bed with those Prench silk sheets you complained about and made love under my moon? When it was just the two of us. Not this... Court, each and everyone of them trying to use you to their ends... We can't salvage it, Tia. It's happening. It's not the end, the ponykind will get through this. But I believe we need to... Stand back, for a century or two. They did it to themselves, after all. You still remember that wing disguise spell?..

No Twilicorn, the purple Herald of The Sun, no Cadance... Only Celestia and, lo and behold, poor little weak small sister Luna. Ugh.

Didn't get to reading your thing, though :P I suppose it's time to get on with it.

Not at all a dead ringer for anypony.

Totally :P
