    FF7 Remake

Exploring the slums in Midgar is an amazing videogame experience. In most RPGs I expect an urban setting to be mostly empty with a few generic, token NPCs standing around. Walking down the street in this game, there are people everywhere. They’re all wearing different clothes, different faces, working at different tasks that actually make sense in this context. They’re also chatting to one

    The View Over Atlantis

I'm having some really conflicted feelings about The View Over Atlantis. I'm just about to wrap up what I think of as "Book One" of the story. After that, there should be a change in setting and tone as we get into the next phase, or the next book.

    Samurai Jack

If any of you haven't been following the revived Samurai Jack series, what the heck is wrong with you? Go watch it! It's amazing.

Last night the third episode of the new season aired, and the leader of the Daughters of Aku, Ashi, is voiced by. . . Tara Strong??

    The Anonymous HiE

The Anonymous HiE is the man with no name: that part of us with no identity other than itself, that which is not seen in the world, always in the distance — hidden, somewhere behind.

He exists as himself, for himself, without attachment to conventional morality.

He is not here to save the ponies of Equestria, or to progress their society.

    He has a different agenda.

All the Colours of the Dark

Isn't it great when you stumble on a piece of music that dovetails perfectly with your story? I tend to picture scenes in an almost cinematic way, and every good movie needs a soundtrack. When I was writing Black Angel, I was lucky to find a couple of tracks that I felt were worth references in the story itself. And just in case any of your forgot. . .

EQG Stories? · 11:59am Sep 6th, 2013

This morning I found not one but two EQG stories polluting the featured box. What the hay?

Am I honestly the only one who thinks EQG is abomination? This is supposed to be FIMFiction.net, not EQGFiction.net. Let them post on some other site! Let them post on DeviantArt! We were told EQG was apart from FIM, wouldn't affect/corrupt/poison our beloved pony world. I feel betrayed.

Maybe we need a setting sort of like the "View Mature" switch. There could be a "View EQG" switch, and if you turn it off then you'd never have to see another EQG story. This seems reasonable to me, since EQG stories are (to me) at least as objectionable as clopfics.

Okay, wow. Calm down. No one is pointing a gun at your head and making you read those stories. You could've just ignored them without posting a blog that does nothing more than make you look like a oversensitive, self-righteous soapbox percher demanding that the entire website caters to your tastes and yours alone.

Equestria Girls will have minimal impact on show canon. However, it does exist. Much like any subsidiary material, from the books to the IDW comics, it is fair game for fanfiction. You don't have to read it. You don't have to love it. But for the sake of appearing more mature than a 12-year old with an X-Box Live account and a vocabulary full of four-letter words, I suggest you learn to tolerate it.

My tastes and mine alone? Really? I just assumed that 95+ percent of bronies out there would feel, as I do, that EGQ is anathema.

This is a cycle that I see repeating itself. Hasbro censors Derpy. Hasbro slaps wings on Cadance. Hasbro slaps wings on Twilight Sparkle. Hasbro creates EQG. Every time there's a brief outcry, but it's soon shouted down. Those who object are ridiculed, and we are all expected to rally around whatever Hasbro has done.

Other fandoms aren't like this. Trekkies never stopped making fun of Wesley Crusher, and nobody expects them to. Star Wars fans have never become defenders of Jar-Jar Binks, and nobody expects them to. When other franchises goof up, the fans call them on it, but somehow it's different in FiM world. Hasbro gets a free pass on anything they hit us with, no matter how nuts.

Well, while I still and will forever and always wish EQG had never been a thing, I did download the movie and watch it; it wasn't that bad, as most others have been saying. Like, it was still full of cliches and somewhat bad writing in places, forced dialogue, as well as just a dumb concept to begin with...but it still wasn't that bad. It was pretty good.

I understand how you feel, but unfortunately there's just nothing we can do about it. You can let it ruin your day, or work on trying to keep it from affecting you anymore. Not easy, I know, but it's the best thing to do, I think.

I thought Eqg was an abomination, too.
