I'm going to write a Grimm Goose the Bard Fairy Tale tomorrow, that Sparkler is going to read Scoots and Dinky. Scoots picks the story Inverse. At around 4 - 5 PM EST. I'll write the story that gets the most picks.
1) The Wishing Apple: A family of Earth Ponies let their two daughters go out into the world to find riches so that the family may prosper. Youngest finds a magic wishing apple hidden in a cave of a mountain. The tree is has a Sea pony that watches over the pool. Warnings given. And stuff happens.
2) The Glass Horse Shoe: Poniefied Cinderella. With a Fae instead of a fairy god mother.
3)The Prince's Black Crystal Heart: A Prince sees love as a weakness, and something that takes away from ones pursuit of magic. Seals his heart in a crystal mine and trades his heart with a part of the crystal mine, magically enchanted. Charms virgin maidens to the cave and syphons their life to fuel his power. Crystal and his crystal heart grow black. A brave young maiden sees the place. Stuff happens.

4)The 3 Tribes Mages: An Earth Pony mage, a Pegasus mage, and an Unicorn Mage meet a goodly Draconequii and enter a tournament to see who is the greatest. For wealth, renown, and the granting of a single wish.

But it looks like The 3 Tribes Mages is going to be the popular pick. So I'll get started on that tomorrow morning. I'm going to be showing my Headcanon for the different races form of Spell casting. Although Unicorns are a given.
