Going to update Steamlord: The ink mechanic · 5:01pm Aug 29th, 2013
While I work on the story of Equinox, I'll be working on Steamlord as well. Equinox will be a side project alongside Steamlord, which will take the main place in my updates.
Why am I doing this? Because Equinox basically has its own story set in stone and, so far, I haven't gotten ideas for an original story for it yet. Basically, I'm doing character profiles and giving them much needed backstories. This makes it simpler to write about them, which makes it "faster" to do. As I write this, I'm currently writing an Equinox chapter right now and that of the next Steamlord.
Want some insight as to what I'm going to do after "A heart to thou"? It should be split into a series like FMTM, which everyone liked, and this one will have something everyone can undeniably agree that they love. 1v1v1 with Equestria obviously in the fray. Who are the other two?(These are examples. No humies)

1320020 The Nothing preceded existence. I based it off the concept of us being unable to comprehend "nothing". Nothing triumphs over the Nothing. It may sound overpowered, but that's how it works.

1320030 But what about an existence that can understand Nothing. Therefore an understanding of Nothing that comes from something, causes a true insanity. Nothing in itself is one of the few 'perfections' this world had/has/will have, therefore, in its perfection it isn't infinite. After all, we can comprehend Nothing, but we can't do it completely. Nor can we write it out.
1320085 This is a perfect way to discuss the Nothing outside of my stories and imagination. In my stories, only two things can "view" and understand it, and those are the Creator and Destroyer who are charged with creating existence after they were made by an incident involving the Nothing.
The Nothing, however, cannot be understood because neither mortal nor immortal can view it. Can you imagine a world without colors? You might think transparent, but that still shows things like white. Can you imagine something with neither light nor darkness? You might think gray, but that isn't illumination and that is still a "color". Can you imagine something that has no size or shape but is still the widest and biggest thing you'll ever "see"? No. It's impossible for a simple mind to think and conjure up things like this.
Humans have feared oblivion forever and have been finding ways to develop on counter-arguments for such things.
"I think. Therefore I am." is the most known one.
1320092 But that's just it. With enough experience in thought, one can 'view' the Nothing. Sure, Nothing is extremely powerful, but that doesn't stop people from being able to comprehend it. All it prevents is explaining it. You can even train your thought process by surrounding your mind with sensation, then suddenly taking it away. Going a day without sight, or sound, or touch, then bringing them back in an extreme. Sure, it's difficult to comprehend Nothing, but it's not impossible, (especially as impossibility doesn't exist).
However comprehension of Nothing is an extreme. Only those who've completely taken their sanity and pile-drived it into submission can 'sense' Nothing. In a sense, only the insane can 'see' it, and only the sane are capable of fearing it. Nothing is Nothing, and Nothing shall stay in the sense of Nothing. However if you wanted an easier way of explaining it, you could just say to imagine absence.
1320109 That "sense" thing is impossible, because no existence can remain within. You have to "not exist" to "exist". when in the nothing. However, an insane person will still feel the same amount of pressure that a sane person has, because insanity and sanity are simply two different thought patterns defined.
1320141 But that's it. I'm talking about comprehending Nothing. You changed the subject to being Nothing. That's another story altogether. Nothing as an existence isn't nearly as easy a feat to understand as Nothing is by itself. That takes a whole other skillset to attempt to understand and even then we as humans can only understand a smaller part of the whole. Insanity and Sanity together alone can understand these differences. In a sense the mere discussing of Nothing renders it something. So we empty our mind, empty ourself, (not limited by thought), and we can understand the existence that is Nothing. I'm not saying that it isn't difficult. I'm just saying comprehension isn't impossible.
1320255 Not at all. See? We cannot comprehend the Nothing becaue we turn it into something. The concept of nothing is so obtuse that even when people try and say that they "understand" it, they think it's something to better understand, but if you need to put existence to something that does not, then you're not understanding it.
1321209 Alright. But I still say that even though Humanity can't understand the whole of Nothing without going insane, they can start to, for lack of a better word, 'understand' the barest minimum of what Nothing is.
1321235 Even Insanity would have trouble viewing nothing because it would view it in some specific manner or form. People who are insane view things in ways they shouldn't, adding that to the nothing would create a similar outcome.
1321297 Hmn...But what I said was that 'viewing' Nothing, *TURNED* a person insane. I didn't state that you would have to be insane to 'view' it. A dedicated En-master would probably be the first person to go to learn how to 'view' it. Nothing is the absence of everything. Nothing is Nothing. For someone dedicated to contradiction, it shouldn't be too far difficult in the extreme to at least bring oneself to imagining the experience of Nothingness.
